Moves from side control
I just was wondering in BJJ is there any other submissions other than the Americana and the Kimora?

If you are using a GI, there are some chokes that you can get from side control. If you can trap the arm from side control, where their shoulder is trapped you can spin from side control and sometimes catch an arm bar, but not from the sides but rather pulling it while covering their head with your body. It is hard to get and if you miss you can be put in a comprimising position.

Side control is a dominant position and gives you many options for both submissions and strikes. Many MMA fighters feel its superior to the mount in terms of control and options. Through your movements you control where you opponent can or will move thereby setting up even more options.

Ooooh there's a bunch Too many to go into here. The best thing you can do is youtube side control, or "from side control", something like that. There's a sweet americana using your legs from judo position, a near side armbar also from judo, there's several head and arm type chokes that you can apply from side control, you can move to north south and go for a kimura there (which I actually prefer, rather than from side control. More leverage.). Youtube it up and see what you can come up with!

I also wanted too update. I think my new move i'm going too try in my next class in the crucifix lol. Is this move illegal/bad. I've heard before some jiu-jitsu teachers will get angry at you for doing it and I just want too find out if you think they'll care.

If you're talking about the neck crank, I strongly suggest you don't do it. At your level of experience, you may not know the proper amount of force to apply and could GRAVELY injure your training partner. Plus, you're not even allowed to use neck cranks in tourneys at white belt level anyway If you're talking about armbars and whatnot, I don't see why not.

Alright thanks. I think it was a neck crank, he crossed his legs around one of the dude's arms his other arm is behind the guy applying the move and the attacker leans back and softly pulls his head.
