Default Capoeira Elements

I thought of this last night while watching The Protector, which happens to be the only movie I've ever seen which not only featured REAL Muay Thai (ie, limbs breaking), but also has a fight scene between the Muay Thai main character, and a Capoeira expert.

I was wondering what all elements of "dance fighting", aside from overall speed and flexibility, have made their way into current MMA?

Default Unofficially...

I studied some capoiera, and as a misdirection and confusion tactic, it's good in an instant attack out of nowhere, but capoieristas don't actually hit each other, they out do each other with style instead of violence.

It was very much a martial art until it was forced into the dance we see today.

here is a history.

I don't think it was forced, it had to adapt or die.

Its a really pretty way to get your but kicked while doing a super sexy spin !

It would probably work well as a first strike attack if you cut out all the bouncing around that Bruce Lee hated.

Some of those kicks if done fast and connect good would be good but once the fight gets going its not going to do much good the way it is today.
