Default Certain Techniques

I wonder is UFC and IFL band certain techniques from competition and only allow others. I was watching these Sambo Techs and they seem to work.
I was using a ankle lock on my cousin all day, and some are stupid simple.

There are no restrictions in the UFC as far as leg locks go. Just the same, most fighters are well trained when it comes to defending them. Attacking legs also leaves you open for strikes. The game changes when you can hit and get hit. But i do agree that Sambo is a good art to study for transition into MMA.

I understand, the thing is I did it on my little cousins, and once I put it on, they stopped kicking me and seized to the pain.
don't worry, I didn't do it hard, and eventually taught them.

Are you a certified Sambo instructor? If your not you really should'nt be applying leg locks on your cousins. The knee joint is very prone to injury when those types of locks are applied. Once there is pain there is usually some damage.

Default whoa

i get what you're saying, but my older cousin did it to me, he was twice my size than I am to them, he did it really hard and relentlessly, and was a psycho and I turned out fine.
I didn't think I would hurt them since I wasn't doing even a quarter as hard.

The commishions set the rules for what all is oked.........The orgs just set up their rules based on what they like.

Dana in the past has talked about wanting the commishion to allow things like knees to the head when a guy is down, Frank Shamrock said a little while back that he would like elbows on the ground banned and only let guys elbow while standing, Thats what I have wanted for a while I hate ground elbows.

The only thing that would be banned as far as leg locks go is if you did something with their toes.......I think you must control 4 fingers or toes when doing things or it would be considered small joint manipulation and that is not legal.

LoL so you can't grab someones big toe and try to break it off

But for the most part leg locks are just grossly under used in MMA......I've seen way to many fights end by leg lock for guys to still try and make a case that it is to high risk, Take the risk and end the fight........Better then going to the cards !!!!

ankle locks arent very dangerous, within reason of course, its kneebars and most of all heel hooks which you need to be super careful with
