Fighting Someone New
Yesterday during our roll session in BJJ class, there was a new kid, fairly stout kid with zero experience. I have a blue belt in BJJ, so it happens a lot that white belts roll with intermediates like myself.
So I start with the kid and give him a takedown on purpose and put him into my guard. Then the kid gets all assholic like he just won the Gracie Open tournament or something and starts talking **** in my guard. He starts all this silly crap he saw on TV, and I laughed inside and let him play a bit.
Then I simply bridged him off and full mounted him. Then key locked him to a tap out.
Then the second round he gets even more assholeic and tries Ken Shamrock leg locks etc etc. I told him to slow down, you're just starting out and he says "F You" I pay for this class. So with that, I said enough's enough.
I freakin scissor sweep around his retarded leg lock attempt he learned from the 1989 Lion's Den book by Ken and take the kids back. He panics and starts trying to head butt me once my hooks were in! So I start choking him out, but he doesent tap. The instructor sees all this and starts laughing saying "Put him to sleep". So i did. Carefully.
The kid wakes up, takes off his belt, changes out of his gi and says... "I'm going back to my Kung Fu class. This rolling around stuff is gay!"..
And we're all WTF??????????????
What do you all do with that occasional A-Hole with an attitude? I hate that cause our gym prides itself in training and wanting to continously learn. We have a banner on the wall that reads "Leave the Ego's Outside".... So this kinda pissed me off!

Or maybe we should just all sit with newcomers and have a drink first aye?
Hehe.
Kid was a huge ass though.
Or arse as my european friends like to say. I'm 50/50 on which I like better. Arse sounds more authoritative than ass. But I'm split on it!

Sounds like you did what you had to. You probably should have just said something to him, but...
I guess his mom never taught him the golden rule;
Treat others how you want to be treated.

Do you roll in gi's. If so you should have used the gi to hold the choke tight enough to immobilize him, but not so tight as to put him under, then, with your free hand, give him wet willies and noogies! Asses should be treated as asses if you ask me.

Classic. Poetry and battery in the same breath. Very Hemingway. This story does not become bragging, so I like it. It's a cautionary tale about Hubris fitted with ignorrance.

That has to happen at every BJJ school. New guys always tend to muscle everything and scamble like they are cover in ants. I hate to admit it but I did when I was new. But I was respectful and took direction from the other students. Now, everyone keeps telling me, "Wow Gary, you have really calmed down a lot".
NOw about the A-Hole guys... we have a really tight group so when the A-Hole guy shows up to class we have him roll with our larger senior students.
The experience either humbles them or pisses them off so bad they never come back. Sounds like you guys did exactly what we do.
Ever notice that the A-Hole guys flake out anyway. They seem to go away on thier own.

Yep. One time I rolled with this new dude to our school. He thought he was a total badass and me I am good but I am humble about it, so I already didn't like his personality. Anyways dude was bigger than me so I figured....what the hell this should be fun. But it wasn't. Long story short he put me into an arm bar and when I tapped he didn't let go. I kept tapping and I think I even said WTF? Then he let go and had a little smirk on his face. I was pissed and arm was killing me. I got up and said WTF ***, he said quit being a little bitch and take it. I was heated now, I couldn't think of anything else. I dropped him with a Thai kick to the head.lol. After that I split and now that dude doesn't come to that school any more. Thats how I took care of that A hole.

This dude came to class, first day ever in BJJ, big dude, you can tell he's a "tough guy" type a-hole. He challenges one of our instructors, a smallish 4 stripe purple belt for his belt!! Dude got dropped and triangle'd...tight...and almost to sleepy time It was glorious. Everyone was applauding and the guy was still all attitude, obviously and rightfully humiliated. He got the hint, haven't seen him since
