Standing head kick
When ever I go for a head kick its not that good. My foot is not rotated at a bent angle its facing forward not right or left depending on which leg it is. Any tips?

I've been kicking people in the face for years, and I didn't even have to take kickboxing. I find that it helps to wait until they're sleeping.

Whatever you do DO NOT tip toe when delivering a head or any kick for that matter.
Occasionally some new guy who's shorter will try to roundhouse a taller guy while tip toeing.

It's a lot easier to kick someone in the head if they're already on the ground. Soccer kick baby, soccer kick.

Thanks nimmy thats what I thought the problem was, not hitting with my shin. But why does cro cop get most of his head kicks with his foot? I don't think it's because the fighters move back. When you say shin are you talking about the lower part of the shin which joins the foot to the leg i.e the joint that connects the leg and the foot together?

kicking with the lower part of the shin makes for a better range, but it will also prevent damage to you and hit with more power.

I agree with Nimmy, as far as the kick goes use your to take the hit. When I first started training I would have the same problem. Pivot your back foot and use your hips for the kick. If you want a great example of a perfectly executed kick you should go to youtube.com and type in thai kick. Some dude from the academy shows ya. Hope it helps

If you really want to train your high kicks you should practice kicking on the bag. A good routine is practice your thai kicks, use the previous suggestion on how to kick and you will greatly improve. Try 50 kicks with each leg, I did this and now I do at least 200 kicks with each leg daily.
