I was visiting a local Savate club near here (French Kickboxing) and noticed one of the instructors teaching what's called a quarter punch.

Has anyone ever heard of it? Basically, it's the same thing as a hook, but it's angled off at a quarter when thrown. Hard to explain, but they got some good power off it while working the pads.

Where's sitinspin? He usually has a video encyclopedia of everything. If anyone could post one up, thanks!

I dont know about that but I am very good at quarter shots...

I've never heard of it either. I guess the best way to describe it is a sucker punch turned side-ways, the way the guy I was watching was throwing it.

Yeah sorta, but more of a hook. It's really odd, but that Savate instructor looked good throwing it. It looked like a devastating punch.


I'm gonna work on it with a partner of mine Saturday on the mitts and see.
