Anyone have any pointers for a spinning back kick. I just recently started trying them and personally I am a Southpaw fighter with my strong leg being my right. Hard to believe, not really, Bruce Lee was the same way. Although I have trained my left foot for strong accurate strikes I can't seem to land the spinning Back kick. So any pointers or suggestions would be helpful. I have tried viewing vids and those only kind of help. Thanks xBrawlerx
try to look up( benny the jet) he had the sickest spinning back kick ever
Damn right, he used to get you all jacked up against the ropes, then BAM.
Benny had the best kickboxing gym in america back in they day, but it went under financially because the time there wasn't that much interest yet in kickboxing. Too bad to cause I heard it was a nice gym.
It was featured on that movie No Retreat No Surrender btw.

When I first tried them, I ended up cracking my head on a brick fire place. Interestingly, this technique would become my favorite and indefensible, mostly.
i work it a lot but i have yet to try it in live action sparring

Ive been working on the spinning back kick myself lately. Being a southpaw fighter too. I tend too prefere setting the spinning back kick up with a few punch combos too the head just too keep there guard in head region and since I cant do a very good stand alone spinning kick. I do a Muay Thai Roundhouse too the head but I backup a bit so that I purposely miss when Im spinning around I just pull of the spinning back kick using the momentum from the Roundhouse kick.
I know its a horrible description I'll try too get a video of myself doing it.
