Some of my fights
Hey all, I said I would post some fights we'll here they are.I havent gone too classes in a while so im kinda of rusty but I think I still put on a good show, I was also fighting a bunch of guys that had a bit of training but that was it. My only real opponent with any training was the other Alex also known as Alexander who i belive is either a blue or brown belt. Hopefully you'll enjoy them, we werent really trying too hurt eachother but we were still trying too do damage.
Heres my fights, if you want more of the others let me know. IM the guy in the red shorts and white leg guards.
YouTube - Alex vs Alexander (Kickboxing)
YouTube - Alex vs Vince (Kickboxing)
My strategy against vince was simple, dont think i have horrible defense, I planned on just covering up too take away vince's energy which he has a very limited supply of and thus i thought why waste my energy when i can just cover up and let him waste his.
Well there they are, comments or suggestions on future videos?
p.s.
We are going too be doing some ufc style fights next time.

LOL. Those were interesting. It looks like you guys are not getting too crazy out of hand or anything. You know, it being a backyard fight and all that. You do have some good kicks. Long legs can hurt when they kick high.

One question, vince's randomly flailing style really gets too me. If you watched our straight boxing video he would simply rush me with a flurry of random punches and then he would grab onto me, which worries me. I dont really know how too counter it other than standing there trading punches with him. I find my arms get tangled with his and it turns into a horrible flailing contest as i attempt too get my arms back and he just well flails.
Seeing as most of you have actual fight experience and I havent been too the gym in a while I would like some advice on that. How do you guys handle the flailing type that attempt too overwhelm you with random punches.
It gets too me because I can stand toe too toe with a trained person but someone with zero training who randomly swings gives me some difficultly, so some tips would be appreciated.

Pick your punches, don't be sucked into his game.

Let it work to thier disadvantage.. you can go for a clinch and break of course.. wait until he has tired himself out and his guard starts to drop and then go from there... what style of fight are you talking, kickboxing or just straight boxing tactics?

Muay Thai mostly, i was really trying for the flying knee or the clinch the only problem is I didnt want too risk the flying knee and the clinch was tough since he flails and like I said my arms get tangled up.

A front kick works great when somebody comes straight at you with punches. The technique has longer reach so it knocks the guy away from you. I would circle away from his power hand, though, and wait to counter with a straight.

the jab is a great tool in boxing when dealing with a guy who as you put it "just flails". i will just throw and endless stream of them at my opponents head until they get frustrated or start to get winded and then you can push the pace in the direction of your choosing. this might not work so well against someone with a greater reach than you but against a shorter opponent its quite nice.

The best thing you can do for distance is either a jab or a front push kick like previously stated.. another thing to do is to study and see when there is rhyme to his reason in randomly swining.. does he drop his gloves during a specific technique? What can you do to draw him into said technique to land a few hooks, maybe a clinch+knee/uppercut? Does he rely on footwork more? If so, shin kicks to tire him out.. whatever you feel is the A point of his game must be studied analyzed.. and neutralized

Ok man,quick analysis.
knees.. his circling is always leaving one leg open wide.. try shin kick to legs or push kicks to knees (which can be legal in some fights not in others.. dirty technique to some and it could hurt him so do as thou wilst).. hands drop after any front push technique and drops highly when he goes for any kick attempt.. uppercut or left hook right body left hook... you have tons of distance to get in on him but a few jabs will do good too if you dont want to take the risk.. powerhand say its left.. left left right left.. he also looks down before he throws a technique.. mostly leg.. use this as a cue
