Default (Former) Boxers in K1

As some of you might have noticed, I am more into boxing than other sports of fighting although in general all martial arts stuff including professional bouts are quite interesting to me.
There are a couple of boxers I know of who tried to do good at Kickboxing - such as Francois Botha, Ray Mercer and Shannon Briggs.
Botha seems to be improving because he uses his legs for kicking now. Ray Mercer was knocked out in twenty seconds or something a couple of weeks ago I think. Unfortunately I did not manage to see Briggs fighting in K1 - he is now back to boxing, though.
What do you think about boxers trying to start a kickboxing career?
In my honest view they just should not do it unless it is just for fun. Or do they have a real shot at the title or something? Mercer is probably just too old now; Botha seems very very self-confident even against high-level opposition.

As far as I remember, Mike Tyson once was present at a Bob Sapp fight. Afterwards Sapp wanted Tyson to come into the ring, what Tyson did. Sapp tried to attack Mike, but Mike stayed cool and was laughing at him. Later on Tyson said Sapp should sign the contract.
Tyson signed a contract with a K1 organization, but it is limited to boxing matches only - I do not think Tyson will ever try kickboxing, his sport was and still is boxing.

We were having a discussion about that here as well.
