Default MMA Madness Q&A: One-on-one with Denis Kang

Considered one of the top middleweights in the world, French-Korean Denis Kang recently announced that he has signed a contract to fight with K-1 HERO’S after a distinguished career in PRIDE. MMA Madness’ Ben Zeidler conducted an email interview with Kang this past weekend. Here are the highlights of that interview.

MMA Madness: Can you tell us what went into your decision to sign with K-1 over UFC or another organization?

Kang: A big part of it was being able to stay in Asia and close to my Korean fans.

MMA Madness: I heard that one of the main stipulations of your K-1 contract is that you can still fight in Spirit MC. Why is Spirit MC so important to you?

Kang: I love fighting in Korea. The Korean fans have given me so much support; this is the way that I can thank them.

MMA Madness: How do you feel you would match up against current UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva? What would it take to beat him?

I was hoping he would be coming to the UFC soon but it isn't looking that way. I have to respect him for being loyal to his Korean fans though, I'd imagine K-1 is also paying him more than the UFC would have.

MMA Madness: More and more fighters are getting caught with steroids lately. Why do fighters take them if they know they'll probably get caught?

Kang: They are getting bad advice.

True, dat.
