Is kickboxing dead ...?
With the growth on mma on a worldwide scene. Have we seen the end of kickboxing as nothing more than a training method for mma fighters?
Do you think that many people with train simply to be kickboxers? I think that most new fighters will train for mma and not just muay thai or kickboxing

Kickboxing, like boxing is'nt dead. Its just not currently popular enough in this country to be mainstream. It was'nt all that long ago that MMA was'nt even on TV regularly aside from a UFC event every other month. Kickboxing and Muay Thai will always be popular somewhere. That somewhere just does'nt happen to be the USA at the moment.

No, look at the TV numbers on TBS and Fuji for K-1 WGP and K-1 MAX shows. Although lackluster matchmaking has caused a little dropoff on the WGP shows viewership, it still is HIGHLY popular. Shootboxing is growing and still has a tv deal, as does AJKF.

I honestly believe in the buy out of Pride people are looking to other alternatives to the UFC and are now looking to K-1 Heros and K-1 Kickboxing... I know i have and so have a few friends of mine.
