Kid Yamamoto vs Rani Yahya at K-1 2007 Dynamite
According to Sports Navi in Japan, Norifumu "Kid" Yamamoto will face Rani Yahya at K-1's Premium 2007 Dynamite on New Year's Eve. The last we saw Rani, he lost a unanimous decision to Chase Beebe for the WEC Bantamweight Championship. Kid is saying all the right things in giving massive respect to the 2007 Abu Dhabi champ, Rani is strictly a ground stud and will only have a slight chance at upsetting Kid. Beebe dominated Rani from the top on the ground for the last 4 rounds after a tense 1st round where Chase defended submission attempt after submission attempt. And remember, this fight was at 135. So size will not be a problem for Kid.

Ive not seen Yahya fight before but Id have a very hard time betting against Kid, especially at his more natural weight.

With Yahya's ground skills, he always has a chance if it hits the ground. Especially if Kid performs at the level he did against Bibiano Fernandes last fight. But Chase Beebe really controlled Rani after a tense 1st round, and pretty much dominated the rest of the fight on the ground. As an MMA fighter, I think Bibiano is a much stronger fighter and Kid eked out a decision against him. If Beebe handled Rani so easily at 135lbs, Kid should take this pretty easily.

Yahya really needs to learn how to strike....he is one of the best in the world on the ground but he is so one dimensional....he couldn't stand with Mark Hominick for 10 seconds and got exposed by Chase Beebe

...he actually didn't do too bad (in stand up) against kid...he caught him a few times. But the problem was he was going for mad hay makers. So Kid got him a few more times . Good fight though I enjoyed it.
