K-1 protecting Sapp??
i found this site that makes claims that K-1 has been protecting Bobb Sapp from losing as best you can in combat sports. its an interesting read but how truthful the claims are i don't know. it does seem that K-1 has done what they can to ensure Sapp has the best shot of winning, even when it means cheating. just by the number of fouls Sapp commits on purpose i have to say that i am no longer a positive voice for the Beast. check it out.

I saw him definitely be allowed to stall when the fight really should have been called.
Sapp vs. Kimo
On the same note... Kimo intentionally threw his mouthpiece on the ground and had it cleaned... which is definitely dirty, but they let both sides do it. Stall I mean.

Not as differnet as Silva being fed japanese guys time and time again to keep him on a winning streak. You have 'protection' anywhere..like the UFC not sending Liddell to Pride to fight Silva after it had been planned for a while, and them not accepting Murillo 'Ninja' Rua as a Pride rep in the UFC.
Not a good thing, but everyone does it in one way or another.

Well Sapp did fight LeBanner in kickboxing a couple months ago and he did fight Fujita. I don't really think K-1 is guarding him.
I think also the cradling of Silva is over. They did feed him a lot of "cans". I'd rather say unworthy fighters, but he did fight Mezger, Rampage, Sakuraba, Yoshida, Kondo, and other good fighters in Pride. He still is damn good.
But both companies has offered to send and sent oposing fighters. UFC sent over Liddell and Belfort for the GPs only to lose Belfort to Pride. Yves was also sent to Bushido and bought over by Pride.
Pride offered "Ninja" Rua, Sergei, and Mirko. UFC declined those offers.

Silva may have gotten off with a few easy wins, but he's not been completely coddled.
I refuse to even comment anymore on what UFC is doing or not doing... other than I will say I'm pretty damn elated for picking up Penn and Tito (can't wait to see him lose, though it might not be for a few fights) again.
Either way... you can't hide forever... there's always somebody better, and chances are... they're looking for you.

You know there is probably some one better than Fedor out there who has never considered the sport. It's something I wonder about. Not just in Fedor's case. There are all kinds of people who could have made great fighters and never did. Mark Hughes was supposed to be the better and stronger fighter but he got married and never really trained it.
But back on topic. There is always going to be little workings behind the scene to keep the fans entertained and make money. And probably even more suspicion of them.

I wrote the article. Naturally, without a confession (impossible) the best I could do is expose some of the fishiness. An impartial organization will never use the same referee over and over like the K-1 did with Kakuda.
BTW, Kakuda is no longer chief referee, Onari is.

thats cool. i have been interested in Sapp as a fighter for awhile but always thought that something was'nt right about his wins. you definately did a good job in exposing the fishiness. having read your article i no longer have as much respect for Sapp. i have never been one to support fighters that don't win a fight solely on thier own.

I've met Sapp and he is a very nice guy. I simply have to put the sport as the top priority. No fighter is bigger than his sport. When the back office plays with the balance, damage is certain.
