Herring KO's Nakao before fight

Yeah and to a lot of people in the world he was right. From most polls I have seen about the subject more people believe that Nakao was in the wrong. Don't know how I'd react if someone kissed me. I would probably atleast shove them, might even throw a punch if I didn't like them before that. And I think alot of people out there would have reacted simmilary, Homophobic or not.

I agree that what Herring said does not mean he's homophobic. I beleive the vast majority of heterosexuals would react negatively to being kissed in that situation.

I think the DQ was due to the promotion's disappointment that the fight was not able to take place. A DQ was not warranted in this situation.

This will make for an intersting match when they finally get to go at it.

It would serve Nakao right, if Herring filed a sexual harrasment suit. It is a workplace environment... I wonder, if Japanese laws on this subject are the same or similar to American laws. If I were Herring, then I would sue to have the DQ reversed.

Yeah the fight should be a no contest, if Nakao doesn't kiss herring on the lips Herring doesn't punch Nakao!! If I got kissed on the lips by a guy I would have done more than what Heath did!! that's just wrong!

if nothing else it was total disrespect shown towards herring. his reaction was rash and i bet he regrets it now, but i think that nakao should have a longer standing punishment than a point deduction taken off a match that didn't even end up happening.

You know, I was just thinking about other times that I fighter acted inappropriately just before a match. But, I could not think of any incidents that reached this level -- where a fighter was KO'ed before the bell rang to start. There was the Ken-Flo versus Kit Cope titty-twister incident, but that was light hearted and funny to everyone including the fighters themselves.

It was actually at the pre-fight weigh-in. They showed it during the pre-fight promo stuff just before Ken-Flo and Cope's match...

Update. The DQ was overturned and it is now officially a NC. That was the right decision I think. Anyone disagree?

i cant put Heath at fault at all. you can argue that it wasnt very professional of him but i dont know anyone who would tolerate that. i might react the same if some fat girl kissed me like that. Heath is not a bad guy. ive never heard of or seen him do or say anything out of line. im glad they changed it to a NC.

I hope that guy understands the intracacies of humiliation now... cause he deserved.

You shouldn't be punching ppl before the fight, but if there ever was a justified reason... that just might be it.

Our dear, departed friend Branden Dicken wouldn't agree with my no contact policy during staredowns... but when things like that happen, people get hit... simple as that.

I was watching Spike TV, when all of the sudden the commercial for Ultimate Fight Night (Jan. 25) comes on. I just found it surprising to how the UFC is marketing their newly acquired fighter Heath Herring, by showing his NC against Nakao (Kiss Heard Around the World). You would figure they would show some of his actual fights instead of something like that.

Funny stuff. I post this link on a Heath Herring thread but it didn't turn up. I thought it was a little strange to promote this way also. Almost like a WWE thing.

I love the way that he just sort of tilted his head and looked at him before knocking him out. He didnt even look like he hit him that hard...
