Well welcome to the forum Xian!
But im one of the ones that dont believe in "chi", seems more of just a confidence thing.

but of course you won't do much if you swing very weak and slowly now will you? It must be a controlled but strong attack and Chi will make it stronger. A weak attack will still get some Chi but will be greeted by a weak amount.

See, when i read that you're telling me you have to be strong for this to work aka chi would be the added confidence you build up by using this "chi". Just my opinion tho man, im opend minded so i dont mind reading about diffrent cultures and diffrent fighting styles. To each their own!

The grappling part in the system of my style is mainly Aikido but contains parts of Judo and even some but very few things of Brasilian Jiu Jitsu which the ground fighting comes most from Judo. We also have have put in certain striking techniques of the ground which i think is similar to what is know as "Ground and pound".

Interesting! Do you do your training in a gi or other type of uniform? Would you say your style focus' more on standup or ground techniques?

I am not familiar with a warning on this internet location but hopefully you have now realized that what you did was incorrect.
Edit: Thank you for the welcome.

I am sorry that you have had to meet a member that is an aberration to Fightforum. For the most part, the members here are willing to listen. Welcome.

Ah, Good question! I never mentioned this. We do train in a gi as when i lived and trained in Japan i took a likening for the Gi and belt ranking system, When i returned to China i introduced it into my curriculum although if a student does not have a gi on i do not stress.
Most of Chun Quan is standing, Although like i have said it involves grappling. I would guess approximately 70% of Chun Quan is standing.

Hello Fight Forum. I have been browsing your site for sometime and have only now got the courage to register and post my thoughts. This excellent thread forced me to strike up that courage.
I am a studier of BJJ and I have a black belt in it, despite the fact I am not very good.
I would love to know more about "Chi", Wyshu Xian

Something strange is going on here. Do any other FF members sense this or is it just me?
