Defending Diaz
Everybody is cracking on Diaz and saying how he acted at the fight and at the hospital was out of line, and it was. But in his defense, he's a young kid who was probably very much angered and insulted by someone who thought that they would just drop 40 pound's and come in and dominate. In many ways Diaz was probably a little bit scared and intimidated and needed to pump himself up. Diesel's a monster and Diaz knew it. That's why Diaz was taunting Riggs about making weight. Did you see Diesil's face in the corner after round one when he was gassing and Diaz was yelling that's right bi#$h! Two more rounds! That intimidated Riggs, he even said so after the fight. Diaz is an animal thug and like or not, that's entertainment. He's without a doubt a fighter first, mma guy second and the kid is all heart. Diaz is young and hot headed, but so are most young proffessional fighters. I think it's funny Riggs doesn't want to see Riggs - Diaz 2. I don't see why? A line of fights between these two young welterweights could be epic. Before Diaz career is over this kid will have fought in some of the greatest MMA matches ever, mark my words.

He needs to pull a Ryan Gracie.. but I think this incident plus his next fight against Sherk will shoot him in the foot enough.

in one of Diaz's interviews on the UFC extras portion of a DVD Diaz mentions that he does'nt know anything else but fighting/MMA. he says he better succeed at fighting because he has nothing else to fall back on.

Okay, I'll spoil this Diaz lovefest.
Count me among the fans that do not like Diaz. At one time I was a Robbie Lawler fan and Nick Diaz destroyed him. While I could have done without some of his antics in the fight, there is no disputing the skills Diaz showed in TKOing Lawler. He dominated every aspect of that fight, no question. He had all my respect for a great performance.
Then came his disputed split-decision loss to Karo Parysian. Any comment he made after losing that one (and he had plenty to say) were due to truly feeling he had won the fight. I'll give him that. But it sets a pattern.
Fast forward to the Diego Sanchez fight. While the vast majority of people had Sanchez winning the fight, it was once again a very close contest. But it was the garbage afterwards that turned me against Diaz. If he whined about the decision, that would be okay (and normal for him). But he started with the accusations of Sanchez being greased up. Maybe he truly believed that and that's cool. But finally he whined about it not being fair that Sanchez got to fight someone of Diaz's caliber without paying his dues. WTF? He just beat you, but he was not worthy of fighting you? That's a crybaby.
Now the whole Riggs situation. Now I am not a Riggs fan as some of my previous posts illustrate. He also made excuse after excuse after the Hughes fight. But once again, Diaz comes across as a cocky little whiner. Enough of the excuses. Just get in there and fight.
I'm sorry, but this is not the kind of whining and sore sportsmanship that will help elevate the sport to the levels we all want to see it go. He is a poor representation of what is great about this sport we care alot for.
I guess in the end, I just want fighters to respect their losses, learn from them, and come back stronger than ever next time, without the constant excuses and me against the world attitude.

That turned me off on Diaz. I like him as a fighter and think he's really exciting, but man does he whine a lot. Him bitching saying Deigo was greased up and ****. The referees check that and so does the NSAC. I doubt the NSAC would something like that magically slide.
He's a great fighter though and I like his badass persona. I'll cheer for him if he doesn't fight somebody I like more. He just needs to grow up a little.

Speaking of being greased up, did you know that you could eat certain things in your diet (fish oil and flax seed oil just to name two) that will come out when you sweat and make you more slippery? We used to do that in H.S. wrestling LOL.

I don't know why I don't care about all the other Diaz stuff besides his fighting. Trash talking punks used to turn me away even if they were good but I love seeing Diaz fight. I don't care what anyone says he always put on an exciting fight. I don't know why lots of people are saying that the fight with Riggs was terrible. That was the most exciting fight of the night. Oh well. I'll continue to support Diaz though.

I haven't seen anyone say the fight was terrible, just that alot of people thought that Riggs won the fight. I'm not one of them however!
