They are definitely not joke. I have a NOS Custom Shop 1960 and a NOS '51 Nocaster and the EJ is right up there. I also have 2 "thin-skin" AV strats. A '57 and a '62. If you haven't played these yet and a store near you actually carry's them you should try one out.
ye man u got some sweet instruments. does anyone know a really good site 4 getting tab? all the sites i try they never really sound exactly like the song
I've had a Washburn for a few years I can't play very good my left hand is too retarded to hit the frets correctly LoL
I can make sound come out of it though
tabcrawler.com is a site I went to in the past don't get much play time on it now pretty good tabs there might need some work to sound right, Theres some good ones though.

Give it a look under "lessons" and you should find TONS of stuff to help your playing. It has a keyboard effect to let you know what it should sound like and a metronome.
I've been playing off and on since about 84-85 or so. Played in various metal and cover bands in the Mpls, MN area until about 93' or there abouts. Around 96', I got totally sucked into golf and didn't play guitar at all until early 02'. In the fall of 02' I played Bark at the Moon with a buddies band during their Halloween gig and stumbled onto Musician War -Music Competition shortly there after and that really kick started my playing again.
These days, I've got no real band aspirations or anything like that. I'm pretty much just a homebound musician...writing and recording tunes when I feel inspired and trying to force myself to work on my weaknesses when I'm not so inspired. LOL
Don't really have much high $ gear, just a bunch of Dean & Squire 7 and 6 stringers and a Peavey 5 string bass. I do all of my recording direct on the PC, using various POD/V-Amp2/J-Station/GNX1 multi-effects type units...so these days I don't even use a large amp anymore. Currently all I've got is a little Ibanez practice amp and some distortion pedals. Favorite of which, is a late 80's Ibanez "Metal Charger" pedal...that really brings back some memories. ;-)
As far as my own stuff goes...I've got plenty of tunes up at Soundclick.com and on a myspace page...links for both are in my sig below. It's all pretty much just metal-type tunage. I was weened on the whole late 80's thrash scene and it's carried through to today with bands like Shadow's Fall, In Flames, Soilwork, Unearth, God Forbid, etc.
Hey ChipShank,if you're really into the shred stuff you might enjoy this. He's my favorite guitarist, and he's probably as technically proficient as you can be while still remaining musical.
Yeah....Shawn Lane was pretty much untouchable as far as the tech/musicality combo goes. I've got his Powers of Ten cd and his REH instructional vid, as well as some other random tunes from various projects. Never got nearly the amount of attention that he should have.
Check out the the "Boris and Natasha" & "Two Rivers" tunes on this guys page ( www.myspace.com/ericglassmusic )....you might like'em. I've been a fan of his stuff for a couple years now. Met him through the Musician War site, where he goes by the name "Ender" & he's been one of my fav's ever since. He's got just a fabulous combo of Tech, Tunes, Phrasing and creepy, other worldly Alien-vibe. LOL
You're the first cat I've met in some time that actually knows who Shawn Lane is.He definitely doesn't get the attention he deserves.Insane piano player as well
I'm pretty familiar with that Shane Gibson's stuff,he's an incredible player, and everyone knows Megadeth.
Thanks for showing me this Eric Glass stuff, that Two Pivers song was pretty cool.It kind of had a Dream Theater vibe to me.

Guitar/Fight freak here! 95'Am.Std strat, 88'Am.Std tele, '05 Hwy1 tele, LesPaul Std., SG '62 reissue, '92 LTD takamine, 88' Alvereze. My main guitar at the moment is my brand new (got it with my Christmas bonus) 2005 chrome red American Telecaster with rosewood neck. Lovi'n the tele's lately. Hard to beat that sound through my Fender Deluxe Reverb. (know what I mean "StratTone"?) Classic rock & blues mostly here.
