ha ha come on man 1st post and already fighter hating. why the capital LETTERS?

UFC is full of guys who are never going to be the champ or the poster boy. look at it this way, you have the pretty boys in life who date the scarlet johanssons of this world and you have the guy who dates the fat ugly chick. its a fact of life, not everyone is going home with the hot chick with the nice ass.

you need the ones who fill the gaps for the top guys.

sorry for the capital letters i am at work and the system i use only recognizes caps.
Now back to the point. I personally know someone that has beaten Marcus twice and gets no recognition because he don't kiss ass. I just dont like to see no talent get through when others are fighting twice a month all over the states sometimes two three nights in a row in tournaments and gets no call up.

Okay, now that opens things up some. Nuki Shakir. 12-12 with two consecutive losses. Other than defeating Davis (once according to Sherdog), he's lost each time he's stepped up in competition. Wisniewski, Riley, Joslin, Fickett, Thompson, Alves. All losses. Not putting him down at all, but he needs some recent wins over quality competition before he gets a shot IMO. Beating Davis in Davis' 3rd MMA fight is nice, but not enough to warrant bigger shows quite yet. At this point, he's on a two fight losing streak.

Davis is actually an interesting sort of guy. He was basically a no-name when he made the cast of TUF, the veteran of just 5 MMA fights. But at one time he was a super highly touted boxer. He was 17-0 having appeared numerous times on ESPN when he lost his first fight to a journeyman. From there, he never boxed again! It wasn't until 3 years later that he showed up in an MMA event.

I give Marcus credit. Unlike most of the guys who have been on TUF, he went right out after the show and started taking fights. He fought 7 times last year, winning each one. He is training with Miletich team now, so if they improve his groundgame, he already has excellent standup.

That's cool. They miss a decent amount of the smaller shows. They especially don't keep track of amateur fights as well.

Here's a site with more complete records. It also shows Shakir lost to Florian as an amateur.

They had to recruit Marcus Davis. He was the only man in the world with enough power to stop Shonie Carter.

Exactly, this arguement could be made about many fighters in the ufc. You mide as well complain about every fighter in the ufc who will never be in title contention.

My advice: just sit back and enjoy the fights they set up.
