FightForum Hall of Fame - 02
Please vote YES for each member you want to see in the Hall of Fame. Each possible addition to the Hall needs to have at least ten times as many YES votes as NO votes and at least ten total votes.

How come some guys have 19 votes and then me and Jonny have 16?
Not to mention the other thread where they have like 30 votes.
YES or NO, bitches.
Choose one.

Ya, I woulndt have guessed the results would have turned out the way they have. I have a couple of guesses as to why though:
1) - people who are new here and dont know these members very well or what they have contributed to the FF community have voted
2) - people are voting more on a basis of whether or not they like the member as opposed to looking at the contributions the member has made to the forum
3) - for some reason, not very many of the longer term members have voted
Whatever the reason, Im still a bit shocked at some of the votes as well as the low numbers of votes on these polls. Compared to the amount of members we have, the number of votes are pitiful.

Yup, I completely agree with that. It will be hard for many of the nominees to overcome the 10/1 yes/no ratio now.

Wow this is suprising. Alot of new member may not know who AngryJohnny is since I have not seen him post since I have been here, but since I was a long time reader of this forum I remember him, he also has more posts than anyone else I believe. Gooner has made so many avatars it is not even funny. Pitbull is just a great poster.

Wow. It's becomming painfully clear that people aren't going to allow anyone but mods into the HoF. These polls become more rediculous every time i check. Nobody nominated me either, yes it sucks. But there's no need to be a baby about it and vote no for everyone. Grow up guys. This was a great idea that is quickly going into the toilet.

This is something Ive been thinking about since the mods put this up....
Ive come to the conclusion that the vote should have been public, as in everyone should have been able to see who voted what. I know some of you might say "oh no, cant do that...it will make people feel intimidated to vote yes when they might have voted no." Well, that is a valid point, but not a good point. This isnt some joke or for fun vote. Its to see who goes into our beloved FightForum's first Hall of Fame induction class. If people want to vote no, then they are more than able to do so. However, if they vote a "no", then they should have to be prepared to say why they voted no, what reason(s) they have for voting no, and should be prepared to defend the "no" vote if asked about it.
This stuff like "well, he called me a noob once in a post" or "he never agrees with me or is always asking me to not type in all caps so I voted no" just doesnt cut it. If you have the nads to vote a no on something like this then you should have the nads to pony up and say why you did so, especially sinces its a vote thats open to the enitre forum membership and its only taking one to three no votes to knock someone out.
You guys might not agree with me but when I look at the voting results, it makes me really wonder at just who was voting and what kind of members we have here.

On the weekend, I will put up the "new" system then.
Thank you.

i agree with all the ideas... but i really think the vote should be limited to a select few.. maybe just the mods... then just those that are inducted... otherwise you have guys that potentially will be banned or those who dont care voting about this

Yeah, man, makes the votes public. This is a FIGHT forum, there's no shortage of balls around here and privacy is boring. My opinion is that every poll on every forum should always have public votes. You'll notice my polls all do.

I agree with most of what's been said, and the votes being public is a good idea (although it will practically ensure that anyone inducted will be admitted). You need to remember, if you are asking for a vote by the members then you need to be willing to accept the outcome.
Also, I hope those who do not vote in a way that you agree with will not be harassed or intimidated for having the balls to say what they believe.
I don't have a problem with most of those being inducted but the HoF really should be an elite group so the number of people in that elite group should be kept small. Jmho.
War angryjonny!
