Not sure how many people even knew his sister had been missing for a few years it really messed him up most people thought......I guess they was looking for the body where the girl said it was.
Maybe now that they know what happened V will come back around to being one of the best again.....

Really!? Do you have a link or something?
I definitely think that it was and has been a big problem for Vitor, I don't know how much hearing this will help him though.

Priscila Belfort's Murderer Confesses
The kidnapper and eventual murderer of Priscila Belfort, sister of popular mixed martial artist Vitor Belfort (Pictures), confessed to authorities on Monday, according to Brazilian media.
Elaine Paiva, 27, admitted to kidnapping and murdering Belfort after receiving money when the gang she worked under was dissatisfied with ransom negotiations.
Paiva was arrested along with three others alleged to be involved in the kidnapping that took place in January 2004.
Police are searching for the body on a small farm near Rio, where Belfort is said to have been buried.

I've always liked Vitor, and the thing with his sister has always made me feel bad for him. It had to effect him mentally somewhere along the road. I hope he can move on. I wish him the best with this.

brazil is a terribel country for this, its ripe with a serious gang culture which is ignored by most of the world. what a pity when most of the worlds sporting greats come from there.

V has always been a bit of a head case even before his sister but it seems that this was a big thing with him and the family that they just didn't know anything for sure.
Hopfuly knowing will help in some way.....Stuff like this sucks but so does are world
BUt he has been a on and off GOLD and Rusty Metal fighter for a long time.......I think it has more to do with him getting away from or at least seeming like he got away from his boxing skills.

I agree that closure helps to heal the wounds of the mind. Losing a sister and not knowing what happened can plague the mind of an indiviual throughout their whole life. Now, at the least, Vitor Belfort knows what happened (however horrible that knowledge will surely be for him). Now, they can have a proper funeral provided that the body has been found where that evil woman said that it should be found.

Ok imagine for a second your a mma fighter, then your sister is gone for years, you find out eventually she was kidnapped, tortured (probably raped when you think of the reality of the situation) then murdered because the aggressors didnt get enough ransom.
How long does it take to get over something like that, then get your mind crystal clear again for fighting in the ring? I think Vitor can forget about MMA for a while. I dont think anybody should really be wishing for the guy to know the cold harsh truth of the matter then focus on training, the guy aint a freaking slave you know.

Truly sad story, it's unfortunate that we live in such a fallen world that things like this are common place. Best wishes to him and his family and I hope Vitor takes all the time he needs before coming back to the fight game, if he ever feels like he should. The most important thing for him would be to be there to support his family.
