I guess I'll post here since I'm not sure where and when we can talk about it but the Rani Yahya/ Chase Beebe fight had an amazing first two rounds. Yahya was ultra slick and fast on the ground and I thought the knee bar was going to blow Beebe leg all to hell. I have to give Beebe major props though for avoiding being subbed by what appears to be a true BJJ master. It's unfortunate that Yahya had no cardio because he would've eventually caught him I think.
As for the main event, WTF was Crunkleton thinking? What a terrible game plan. Uh, agressively face Razor and then just stand there and get hit.
My only other comment is about Brian Stann. Am I the only one here who just doesn't like this guy. For god sake I appreciate the armed forces and what they do to protect me and my country but for crying out loud does he have to throw it in my face every time he opens his mouth. Like when Mir asked him about that uppercut he took early in the fight he said something like, "No big deal I've been blown up twice". I noticed there were a lot of boos when he came out so maybe I'm not alone. Stann seems pretty tough and I expect him to win a lot of fights but for now I just don't like his personality.

I thought all the fights were pretty good. Maybe it was not Stan's home town crowd or something. I guess I could kind of see your point but I think he is just trying to play the patriot card.
Excuss me for being dumb but the UFC owns WEC? So how do they decide when a guys is good enough to come up to the UFC? What if they guy has a WEC belt. Could he go for a UFC belt also?

There is no steadfast rule of moving up from the WEC. In fact, the WEC has two divisions that the UFC does not even have (Bantam and featherweight). So there is absolutely no chance that those fighters will ever make it to the UFC unless they move up in weight class. Some fighters just seem destined to stay in the WEC. Like Doug Marshall, Tiki, Crunkleton, etc. Others no doubt will eventually be in the UFC.........Paulo Fhilo, Razor Rob, and probably Brian Stann. I think it's just one of those things where if the UFC thinks the fighter can draw a crowd or PPV buys then they are far mroe likely to be called up. I also would expect them to put a lot of weight on how exciting a fighter is.

I'm not a Brian Stann fan at all either. I really wanted Yahya to win that match. I was sad to see him gas like that.

Was anyone else here pissed that the Ref let an obviously intentional headbutt go unchallenged in one of the earlier fights (Bryan Baker headbutted Jesse Forbes)? I sure as hell was! Doesn't mean the same guy wouldn't have won, but dammit, enforce the freaking rules!

In other news,I think Beebe's strength and will were what enabled him to withstand Rani's sick, sick jui jitsu sub attempts. If Yahya were just a little stronger physically I think he would have won by sub on several occasions.

I missed the replay. Did they ever show it? The ref looked like he was right there. Don't know how he would have missed it. My thoughts were that it had to be his shoulder?

It looked a little distrubing when it happened. Frank even mentinoed that he wanted to see it again. But sure enough they didn't go back and show it. I thought he may have given him a "shoulder shock". But I could be wrong.

I got it on DVD Hard Drive and re-ran it several times. He actually slammed his CHIN into the dood's face. No way it was a legal strike, and the ref was right there on top of it. He started to react to the foul, and then just let it go. bad reffing in my book.
