Great write up! Yeah I noticed right away that the crowd was much less than last year, which really surprised me as I thought it would be as full if not more than last August. I heard that guy scream "Use the elbows!" as well, and another guy in the same area wanting the ref to stand them up as soon as the bottom fighters backside hit the canvas! I'm like if you want to watch just stand up, go watch boxing.
I actually thought Horodecki won 29-28, but if he gets put against a great submission guy, he is done. He is just getting by on decisions his last few fights.

For me, I had no problem with Horodecki getting the decision as well. I just scored it slightly differently.
I was surprised how anti-Horodecki the crowd was. And not just due to the decision, but even pre-fight!

As one of the anti-Horodecki element in the crowd, let me defend my brethren and myself. I feel that he is protected by the IFL because they see him as marketable and that he is therefore overrated. But more importantly (and perhaps because he is protected), he is constantly grabbing the ropes or trying to squirm through them to escape and a point is rarely, if ever, deducted. Like I said last night, such "technique" should garner a point penalty even faster in the IFL due to the four minute rounds. And let us not forget that during last season's IFL season, he actually KO'ed someone with a head kick while balancing on the ropes with one hand. No dq. No NC. Horodecki is analogous to (of all people) Kimbo because he is the face of an organization while being an extremely flawed fighter who would get destroyed in any other major organization. And, finally, who did Fabiano KO last night? Shad Lierly. Horodecki fought- and almost lost to- him at 155 when Lierly's nose was still broken and "the Polish Hammer" could not even draw blood. Sounds more like "the Polish Marshmallow" to me.

I'm not a Horodecki basher but Drewplata's right - he really does grab the ropes a lot. He also grabs his opponents' shorts.

Horodecki definately needs to improve his ground game, I said when they made the Featherweight class was partly because the final of the lightweights would have been Fabiano vs Horodecki and I knew, as did most IFL fans and IFL brass that Wagnney would have submitted Chris in the 1st round probably.
Even last night, if that fight was spent more on the ground than on the feet, Nate would have won for sure, Horodecki looks lost at times on the mat.
