Update
I wish some of these outlets would stop calling it "Ultimate Fighting" and referring to it as violent fights.
Quote:
ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Ultimate Fighting is closer to becoming legal in Maryland.
The House of Delegates has signed-off on a bill to allow mixed martial-arts contests such as those used in the Ultimate Fighting Contest. Currently it's illegal to charge admission to those violent fights, but the bill would allow Ultimate Fighting to be regulated same as boxing or kickboxing.
A similar bill has already passed the Senate, over objections from some that the sport is too brutal to allow. Supporters say the fights are already allowed in 35 other states, including all of Maryland's neighbors except West Virginia. One more House vote is required, expected in coming days.

Good stuff T-Bone . I hope they approved. I would love to see a show close to home or in our nations capital. If there was a petiton, I sign it.

I can't imagine they'd pass something like this through the channels only to end with a veto. So it looks promising.

I too wish they'd stop calling it "Ultimate Fighting" and stop talking about the brutal aspect... OK, it is a combat sport but nothing worse than boxing or anything else.
