The best thing Sylvia could do to win this fight in my opinion is via a lackluster decision. Try to avoid the take-downs, stay on the outside, jab and keep Emelianenko at bay. I don't think he is going to be able to knock out Fedor while standing and he certainly isn't going to look to take the fight to the ground. With that being said, I think Fedor is going to show the world why he is still ranked #1!

Can't wait to see Fedor demolish Big Tim....I will definitely take an av/sig/points bet with whoever wants to pick Sylvia if this actually does happen...

I will be rooting for Big Tim like always. I honestly think this will be a pretty even fight, and could easily go either way. If Fedor wins, it will most likely be by submission, and if Tim wins it will probably be a decision, just because Fedor seems next to impossible to knock out.

I think Tim matches up very well against Fedor, much better than Couture would. If Sylvia could rock Nog then he easily could with Fedor. I hope soooooooooooooo much Fedor wins, I honestly will of not pulled for another fighter as much before in a fight. Mainly because I believe alot of people, mainly casual fans do not give Fedor nearly the amount of respect he deserves.

Wow. I am shocked at how many people here (not to mention other places) think Timmah has a decent shot in this fight. He has never seen a heavyweight with Fedor's speed. Also, I doubt Fedor would take a fight he wasn't confident that he was going to win. His camp must see something in Sylvia's game they feel that they can exploit.
As a side note: what are the odds that Dana White did NOT know this was going to happen? This fight takes a little luster off the Fedor-Randy fight even if Fedor destroys him. Also, it offers the odd chance that Fedor might lose. If he did, how much value intrinsic in a Fedor-Randy is destroyed? How would Mark Cuban feel? Dana is one slick SOB.

Honestly, Big Tim? :-/.
Great to see Fedor facing top competition, but unfortunately no one gives Tim respect as is, so I dont see how a win over him is going to do that much as far as casual fans go.
Blah.

Timmay has the one secret weapon that Fedor cannot handle... poop in his pants.
Butt seriously...
IF Timmay does beat Fedor, it means that Randy's potential payout for a Fedor matchup just went down a few hundred grand.

I honestly think that Dana had no idear. Even though it potentially does screw over Randy (and only if Timmay wins), Dana would never instigate or greenlight a fight that takes attention away from the UFC. And this is seriously may be the first fight to take attention from the UFC for the mainstream audience. Also, if Fedor wins, it makes the matchup with Couture that much more exciting and will increase both of their marketability.

tims only chance here is a bum-rush and hope for the best. If it goes to the ground fedor will punish him and most likely submit him.
If tim tries he patent-pending jab to victory technique it will be a short night for him.

I think Drew's on to something actually. I never really thought about it, but we know that Dana is the vindictive type, and when has Dana been so willing to let one of his top fighters just walk away from a contract? He may not have known that the deal would get done so quickly, but he defintely knew the possibility of the match-up. What better way to get back at Randy's shenanigans than to throw a top ranked fighter out there? Interesting theory at least.

Also, is this going to be a PPV? If it's only on HDnet, even Dana will have to go to a buddy's house to be one of the 8 people who will see it.

As of Tuesday evening, all indications made to FiveOuncesOfPain.com (Five Ounces of Pain | Your Destination for Insider MMA News and Opinion) were that a deal had yet to be signed but could be finalized shortly. Sources also indicate that while HDNet could be involved, the initial airing of the event would most likely take place on pay-per-view. We have also learned that a very strong undercard is being planned for the event as well.

Guess I have an answer to that one.

Nice, I think this will be a good fight! I think Fedor will win, but I'm definately looking foward to seeing this battle. Hopefully it's on PPV.

wow! Im amazed at the people saying Tim has no shot. All he has to do is keep it standing. All know all the Fedor worshipers will say differently, but who has Fedor KO'd standing. Mark Henry seemed to be doing fine, he has less ground game than Tim and he was able to get side control. Tim was doing great against Nog but he just got a lil over aggressive and got caught. I doubt he will make the same mistake against Fedor. I just dont get people calling this fight as one sided. Either way I think this has the potential to be a great fight.

You mean Mark Hunt. He is a huge HW, I'm not sure what he weighed in the Fedor fight but I'd guess 300 pounds plus. Fedor is a fairly small HW weighing around 230. Of course Fedor is going to have a little trouble on the bottom with a 70 pound weight difference. He won the fight and escaped a tough position, give him credit.
It would be foolish to count Tim out of this fight, we have seen that he has some serious power. I don't think that he will be able to keep it standing though, if Fedor wants to take the fight to the mat I think he will do it with ease. It all depends on what Tim can land in between being taken down.

I see Fedor landing a big shot that drops Tim and Fedor then moves in for a sub, ala Tim vs AA I.

I am hoping for a Tim win just so Randy is stuck with his dickinhishand for all of this nonsense that is going on because of his childish acts. He signed a contract, fulfill it.
