Highest KO % among Premier Heavyweights
Quote:
Two-time UFC champion Tim Sylvia holds the highest knockout percentage among the world’s premier heavyweights. The 32-year-old product of the Miletich Fighting Systems camp has delivered 16 of his 28 career wins (57 percent) by knockout or technical knockout. His percentage is followed by Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic
(52 percent), Ben Rothwell (50 percent), former UFC titleholder Andrei Arlovski
(47 percent), Aleksander Emelianenko (44 percent), UFC Hall-of-Fame Randy Couture (29 percent), Gabriel Gonzaga (27 percent), Fedor Emelianenko
(21 percent), Fabricio Werdum (21 percent), Heath Herring (17 percent), Josh Barnett (15 percent) and interim UFC heavyweight champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira (8 percent).

Interesting read.
Makes you wonder why Sylvia is so universally disliked.

because the majority of the KO wins have taken place outside of the UFC. Unfortunately his UFC career is littered with uneventful decisions. After Tim won against Vera i recall him saying something about it being more difficult to finish guys at this level.

Maybe amongst the 'premier' HWs, but I think Gilbert Yvel might have something to say about having the higher percentage amongst ALL heavyweights!!!
28 of his 32 wins came by (T)KO (87.5%)!!! And some of the victims in that list include Semmy Schilt, Cheik Kongo, Rodney Faverus, Gary Goodridge, TK etc etc etc
I know he's not the most popular fighter, but you cant deny thats an impressive resume!!!

When you have no ground skills to speak of, I suppose you'll get more KO's but tell me Fedor or Nog's finishes aren't just as if not more impressive than a KO in many cases.
