Vitor confirmed for Cage Rage in December
Looks like Vitor is not going to be fighting Mauricio after all. Here is an article from Sherdog. This card actually looks pretty sweet. I want to see Tyron Glover. He is featured on 101 submissions and is amazing. I haven't seen him fight an MMA match yet. I'm going to track them down to see how he does. He's already 4-0. Plus it has Shoji, Matsui, Lindland, "Buscape", and Anderson Silva. I hope I get to see this one.
LONDON, Nov. 4 — Sherdog.com can reveal that a bout between Vitor Belfort and Antony Rea has just been confirmed for Cage Rage 14, scheduled for the Wembley Conference Centre on December 3.
Speaking exclusively with Sherdog, Cage Rage co-promoter Dave O'Donnell confirmed two further star-studded bouts, with PRIDE fixture Akira Shoji taking on UFC veteran Mark Weir and Luiz Firmino, from the Brazilian Top Team, taking on the Capital City Fighting Alliance's Tyrone Glover. The participants of the latter match are fighting for a place at a forthcoming Bushido show.
In other big news, Cage Rage continues to attract more attention from the mainstream UK media. Front, a popular magazine aimed at men, will be running a four-page article covering Cage Rage 13 in its December edition. The February edition of the same magazine will be running a six-page article on how MMA training compares with a conventional gym workout.
Their plucky reporter is currently suffering from injuries sustained whilst training at the Elite gym in South London.
Cage Rage 14 has seen a couple of changes from the card previously advertised. The latest version is:
Vitor Belfort vs Antony Rea
Curtis Stout vs. Anderson Silva
Akira Shoji vs Mark Weir
Tyrone Glover vs. Luiz Firmino
Alex Reid vs Daijiro Matsui
Matt Lindland vs Antonio Schembri
Mark Epstein vs Brian Adams
Sol Gilbert vs Xavier Foupa-Pokam
Brad Pickett vs. Robbie Oliver
Robert Berry vs. Marc Goddard
Dean Bray vs. Nigel Whitear
Dave Legeno vs. Alan Murdock
Ross Mason vs Darren Guisha
Ryan White vs Mark Buchanan
Paul Daley vs Joey Van Wanrooy

He is 28 and has a lot of time ahead of him. I hope he fights then a few fight at the B level before he comes back to Pride or UFC. Get his head on straight and start getting confidence back. WAR BELFORT!

Exactly. If he gets some wins under his belt then maybe that will straighten him out. It's not that losing to Alistair is anything to lose your head about but still he needs at least a win or two before jumping back into UFC or Pride. It's crazy that he is only 28. I've heard someone say he needs to retire and is washed up. Needless to say that person was flamed beyond belief. It just seems that way because he has been in it so long. He is far from washed up. I don't even think he has hit his prime yet. Look how long it took Chuck to get the belt, ya know? Vitor has been fighting top notch competition longer than most guys even have a career.

I really thought how I want Vitor's career to look in the next copule fights.
- Fight and win at Cage Rage
- Go to Icon or Rings and win there
- Then fight possibly three fights in KOTC or something and start getting a movement going. Then head back to UFC and win the title from Chucky!
WAR PHENOM! :P I never get sick saying that.

this will be good for Vitor and good for Cage Rage as well, win win for all parties. plus we get to see Vitor fight again. also, on a side note, no surprise to see Lindland back in the ring so soon after the UFC dumped him.

Well at the moment, according to the official Cage Rage website, there is now no mention of Belfort fighting at CR 14 and the latest news is that Phil Baroni is fighting Mark Weir.
There is also news that Matt Lindland will be fighting Elvis (Sinosic? surely there can't be another fighter with the name Elvis!)
Anyway, I'm still looking forward to this card, I think it's going to be great, and hopefully fingers crossed, depending on a few things - I might be going! Man, I'm pumped!
The official Cage Rage website can be found here.

There is! Elvis "Nino" Schrembi forom Brazil's Chute Boxe. He is a Jiu-Jitsu wizard and grand champion. He gave all teh Chute Box guys their BJJ belts. He's beaten Sakuraba too. Schrembi is amazing on the round but only have the fighter in MMA. He's still good though.

Ahh thanks for that Danny, that clears things up a lot for me, they had me confused when they said Elvis. I had no idea Schrembi was known as Elvis as well. Is that is his nickname or his real name? I've only ever seen him listed as Antonio 'Nino' Schrembi.

Nino and Elvis are both nicknames. Nino short for Antonio. Elvis for the sideburns.

Apologies for confusing matters there, today they have changed their site and it is Belfort fighting, not Baroni.
I hope they are quicker sending me my ticket than they are updating their site

Well I've got my ticket now - paid extra and went for one of the highest priced tickets, and now that it's here it turns out I've got a front row seat!! Got the hotel booked for the night, and I'm all set. Man I am so excited you wouldn't believe! Only downside is it's almost a 5 hour journey there, and then 5 back the next day. 15 fights! I can see why the doors open at 5pm and the event starts at 5.30pm
So the fighters from this card that I have seen fight before are Belfort, Weir, Lindland, and Silva.
Who else should I look out for that anyone here has seen fight? Jonny mentioned Tyrone Glover. What about Schembri? I checked his record and he is 3-3-0 all in Pride, anyone seen him fight?

Definitely watch for Tyrone. I haven't seen him MMA fights yet just his grappling matches but the dude is freaking amazing on the ground his fight against Buscape is probably the one I would want to see the most. Schembri isn't amazing or anything but should put on a decent show. I don't care what anyone says about Matsui either that dude is a warrior and he always gives 200% he fights harder than a normal persons body would be allowed. He doesn't win much but he has given some really tough fighters some wars. I'm jealous that you get to go to this man. It should be awesome.

Well that's what I was hoping to do until I got the ticket, and it says on it 'No recording equipment or cameras allowed' I dunno how strict they are with the rule though.
I am going to try and find out where and when the weigh-in is, and hopefully get some there. Hopefully I'll be early enough.
and yes....WAR BELFORT!

What you said about Matsui, you could also say about Schembri. "Nino" gained so much respect for me when he KTFO'd Sakuraba in their first fight after beaing beatdown for what seemed like the longest time. "Nino" is probably one of the best on the ground in straight Jiu-Jitsu. MMA isn't his strong point, but don't disregard him because his record is 3-3. He is badass on the ground.

Well that's what I was shooting for. You can't really expect that much from him in a MMA fight. I'm not bashing him though because I have seen a bit of his grappling as well and he definitely is BA on the ground. I don't disregard him he just isn't someone that fans who aren't as familiar with the ground game will get excited about. But see with Daijiro, he is someone who usually ends up getting beat but he puts on exciting fights even to the casual fan because he is damn tough to submit and can roll with just about anyone, he'll go toe to toe with guys who have better stand up than him and he has (or had, since I haven't seen him in a while) amazing cardio so he battles it out like a warrior to the end. That's what I love about Matsui and that is almost for sure a good fight.

I think the Matsui/Belfort fight at Pride 10 defines Matsui's no quit attitude. He got beatdown for the longest time.
