This is absolutely no surprise. What is surprising is that anyone would still be willing to test thier Kung-fu against the well rounded skills of a MMA fighter.

I don't buy into the whole "this is better than that" mentality. It depends completely on the fighters.

Great response, it is always about the person, not the style.. You can not shed your innate self, you are either tuff and aggressive or you are not. The style we teach can't even be used in MMA. It is a streamlined fighting style, no flash and not for demonstration..

I hate that video . The kung fu practicioner just ran at the guy with his hands down at his side. It was not a good display of kung fu vs. mma imo.

Like it was said above, it depends on the individual fighter and how he re-acts in certain situations.

He kind of walked right into it. Hands low, close in rush, weak low kick from up close. Sad, really.

For me its simply a matter of who has the right tools and knows how to use them for the intended purpose. I love Kung Fu and most TMAs. Fact is, MMA is the result of 15 years of combat sports evolution. Basic skills on all levels and ranges combined with superb conditioning. In the cage or ring its always going to be the favorite over someone who traditionally practices Kung Fu. There is also the sparring and grappling aspect. From my experience MMA has far more hard contact than TMAs. So a MMA fighter knows his limits in both taking and handing out punishment. In the TMAs its not that way from what i have seen. Yes, there are tougher schools that teach full contact but even then its not on other people and at all ranges and levels.
