So...what happens to the WEC LHW/MW champions?
Or are Griffin/Cantwell and Silva/Filho unification fights already in the works?
Doubtful they'll have the same advertising gusto as Jackson/Henderson and Silva/Henderson.

Good move to cut out those weight classes. Bad move to try to sell a WEC PPV.

I love watching the WEC shows but with the UFC putting on an event about once a month there is no way the group I watch with will buy a WEC event.

This sucks...I like the free WEC. Several casual MMA fans I know really look forward to the Spike shows. I won't buy it (right away at least) b/c I want them to keep it (or go back to being) free, if that's ever an option.

From the office of Kevin Iole:
Zuffas decision to trim the WEC from six divisions (light heavyweight, middleweight, welterweight, lightweight, featherweight and bantamweight) to four by folding its light heavyweight and middleweight divisions into the UFC, however, will make it that much harder to fill cards.
Thats particularly true given Whites plan to add pay-per-view shows to the WECs offerings, perhaps as early as May.
I love WEC. However, WEC PPVs at this time = no buys. | Report: WEC down to four weight classes | FightOpinion.com - Your Global Connection to the Fight Industry.
