Ask Weasel.
Cage Rage 14 looks like a good event because there are alot of fights and Vitor is going to be fighting. I also Know that it is a farm orginization for Pride.

It's a B level organization that will sign big name fighetrs for a event now and then. They have Pride veteran and former UFC Champion Belfort fighting at 14. Jean Silva, "Shaolin" Riberio, Lee Muray, all big names have fought for CR. CR is basically a development leauge for Pride.

I tell you what, I'm not MMA expert, but it looks like Cage Rage is going to be awesome this weekend! The top 3 or 4 fights should all be exciting due to the fighters competing.
Who isn't excited to see the return of Vitor Belfort? Add in Matt Lindland, Mark Weir, Akira Shoji, Anderson Silva, etc., and you have yourself some big-time fights for a developmental league.
I'd be interested in getting Cage Rage if it comes on PPV, or at least getting the tape once it's released..
Also, didn't I hear something about Nino Shembri being the real deal?

I wouldn't say it is a "poor man's UFC" because that sounds like it's putting it down. Every org is hit or miss. This Cage Rage should not disappoint though. As well as the previously mentioned fights, watchout for Tyrone Glover, he was scheduled to fight Buscape but Buscape had to withdraw. I haven't heard who is replacing him.
Thrash I wouldn't say Nino is the real deal. He is great working off his back but he does have an impressive KO over Sakuraba after taking a whoopin the whole fight.

Maybe Glover was the guy who I heard was the real deal. I think the comment was made by you jonny, so maybe it was Glover that I heard about.
Either way, it doesn't look like Cage Rage is any poor man's UFC. By the looks of the card, it could be better than a lot of UFCs. And that's coming from a UFC guy.

Sounds like they have a good set of fighters in this Cage Rage organization. One question though . . . Cage Rage is an affiliate of Pride right? Kinda the minor leagues of Pride? So why would they have cage fighting? Wouldn't they rather have the future Pride fighters fight in a ring to be ready for the big leagues?

Because CR was established before Pride made a deal with them. Pride isn't really like running their show but just watching their talent. They'll send big names like Belfort and at once, Baroni. CR isn't really ran by DSE.
