Sergio Batarelli is quite dissapointed in you all.
I will start things off.. When Chute Boxe first started making it big, Wanderlei Silva had nothing but respect for Jose 'Pele' Landi. He saw Pele in much of the same way that Mauricio 'Shogun' Rua sees Silva.. an elder statesman and someone who he would never fight.
However, if this were not the case who would you take in a fight.. remember, this is Pele in his prime and Wanderlei in his pre UFC days.

Pele would have torn Wanderlei up badly back then. I don't know what happened to him. He was a prodigy back in the day.
I have seen a few of the early IVC events like 1-3 I think. I also saw some Brazil Vale Tudo or something like that but it was where Babalu ran through everyone including THE Pedro. I think he fought 3 times in one night. He also looked pretty heavy, probably about 220-230 or more.

i have read alittle about the Vale Tudo fights in Brazil from a book "the Gracie Way". definately a differant world there. funny how MMA in Brazil has gone from riots to Wallid Ismael's Jungle Fight Promotion, which has been very succesful.

It was alright all the fights were real short. I think only one fight went over 5 minutes. Babalu was clearly ahead of everyone else there skill wise. Other than The Pedro there was no one else there real notable.
