Frank Shamrock interview.
Interesting interview. Is Frank going to be fighting Tito? I thought Tito was under exclusive contract with the UFC. And Frank won't fight in the UFC.
On October 10th, Frank’s older brother Ken Shamrock is scheduled to meet Tito Ortiz for the third and final time. The fight will be aired live on Spike TV.
“It’s great for Ken, it’s great for the sport, and it’s great for the Shamrock brand. Tito is going to mash him and that will be that,” said Frank. “I don’t keep contact with him; he doesn’t think a relationship with me is important. I’m just happy that the boy is on TV and reaching the mainstream in that way. I hate to see him get mashed again but it’ll be a great set up for when I whoop Tito’s ass.”

With Frank it's always $$, so if Dana puts up six figures which would be likely in a Frank/Tito fight, Frank will do it.
I'd love it too, because Tito is AN ENTIRELY different animal than when they fought in 99. But.. Frank has continued to train, is a great athelete just like Tito, on paper, it's a helluva lot better than Ken and Tito. Plus the hype?
Shoot, the UFC can't lose. It'd be hyped as a "Brother's Revenge" type fight. Even though Ken and Frank can't stand each other. Marketing wise, it'd work.

You will NEVER see Frank Shamrock in the UFC again. Hes stated in another interview that the only way that he would fight in the UFC is if they offered him 10 million and 50% ownership of the UFC to fight one fight. If the UFC offers him six figures to fight, thats still less than he just signed for with another organization. He signed on for one year for a multimillion dollar deal. Ill win the powerball lottery before we see Frank Shamrock back in the UFC.

Dude Dude Dude Dude Dude Dude Dude.
NEVER SAY NEVER when it comes to the Shamrock family!
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Change everythings. WIth enough hype and $$$, Frank will fight in the UFC
again.
And as for 10 million and 50% ownership?
He'll change his mind when Strikeforce goes bankrupt for that overblown contract Frank just signed with them.

The quote you posted has nothing to do with Frank fighting. He's talking about Ken fighting Tito again.

I don't think so. He's talking about Tito vs. Ken, then he says "I hate to see him (Ken) get mashed again, but it’ll be a great set up for when I whoop Tito’s ass".
Tito is a real money making machine. People are lined up to fight him, and everyone who isn't fighting him wants to watch.

Frank will fight once every leap year against some scrub for a billion dollars, beat him easily, then won't be heard from for another quarter century, and propagate this belief that he is the best and will be worshipped by a select few.
Him and Rickson are both these untested enigmas and they're content on being that way,and will remain so forever.

Yeah but it would be good to see him in the octagon again. My money would be on Tito though.

Was that last line added in an edit? I didn't see that the first time I read it. Too many blows to the head at training will do that for you I guess.

Sorry, I did edit a bit for clarity. I added " (Ken)", because that's who he was talking about in the previous sentence. I guess I should have posted more of the quote but it's still there if you want to go back and have a look.

LOL! Except for your slight tendency to exaggerate, that's a pretty good synopsis.
I'd love to see Frank fight Tito though, and the fan interest would be mind-boggling. Tito will be looking for opportunities after Liddell hands him his head and he finishes Ortiz/Griffin II. I predict Tito will want no part of Evans. A match with Frank for a million dollars each could be pretty appealing to both.

Frank-Tito II would be a close one, but only because Tito is so much bigger.
Frank is clearly the more skilled fighter (stand-up and submissions), and they have only a couple years between them.
Tito couldn't finish Frank in his wildest dreams, a LnP-win is the best he could do, and Frank would definitely have a shot.
