Default Daniel Puder vs Kurt Angle

http://www.mmaweekly.com/absolutenm/...2834&zoneid=13

This is hysterical. I remember this confrontation. Although i think he and the writer both exagerate the position Kurt Angle was in. Granted i wasn't well versed in MMA then, and it was a while ago, but i don't remember Kurt being caught that bad, nor do i remember a pained look on his face. Still, this match would be funny to watch. Kurt should go train with Brock Lesnar and then go kick Puder's ass. This guy is just looking for 15 more minutes of fame if you ask me.

yep it seems like hes trying to get a break in MMA through goeding the promoters to jump on a free agent angle.

I don\'t give a rats ass about pro wrestling, nor seeing two roid monkeys rolling togather in a \'real\' fight.

As for the incident, Puder definitely had Kurt in a bad position. You could tell it caught him off guard. That being said, what everyone fails to mention is the fact Kurt Angle had about 40% strength in his arms during that time, so he was powerless. Puder was pretty unprofessional with the whole thing (it was professional wrestling, not MMA).

I'm a big Kurt Angle fan and would like to see him whip Puder, but it's not going to happen. Angle is in TNA now, and Dana White already said he wouldn't let him fight unless he was strictly signed to the UFC. I guess another promotion could put the fight on, but I doubt it. The UFC is really the only place it would sell.

Kurt Angle is likely one of the few pro-wrestlers to not use roids. But, then again, many MMA fighters use roids as well. Please, do not try to say that they do not. Kimo and Sylvia were both on the roid train. Baroni is often accused of being on roids. Many others less well known have been singled out in the past.

Also, the UFC cannot afford a Kurt Angle. The WWE released Angle because Angle was suffering from his addiction to pain killers, not steroids. Angle went from being the highest paid WWE pro-wrestler to being the highest paid TNA pro-wrestler. The UFC could never match what Angle makes in pro-wrestling, and definately not with an exclusive contract.

Heck, Tito Ortiz made more from four appearances (no actual pro-wrestling matches) in TNA than he had made during his entire time as the UFC LHW champion. People see TNA as a single promotion on TV. But, TNA is the NWA. The National Wrestling Alliance of promotions. They have minor event promotions all over the country. They may not be as big as the WWE, but TNA is by no means a small, rag-tag promotion.

And, finally, Kurt Angle has nothing to prove in MMA. Sure, I would love to see him in MMA. But, at his age and with all that he has done in his life, it is not essential to jump into the MMA sport when he can make tons more cash in pro-wrestling than either PRIDE or the UFC can afford. PWI Magazine rated Kurt Angle Number Two out of the top 500 pro-wrestlers. John Cena was rated higher because Cena held the belt. There are thousands of pro-wrestlers in the world. Have you ever seen a top 500 MMA fighters?

I wish there was a PMMAI Magazine. That would be cool. Pro-MMA Illustrated would be a huge seller.
