Dana should pay good coin get Fedor over to the UFC, let him smack Tim around for a round or two , I promise you then the Heavyweight Divsion would be bigger and stronger! The ufc heavyweight divsion is somewhat pathetic , when the PPV headliner is a heavyweight bout PPV sales are down 32% compared to the middleweight, light heavyweight title shots , this according to the Nevada commission, hence why a monson vs tim fight was completly shadowed by the GSP vs hughes fight ? Its pretty bad when your big boys can't bring in the big $$$$ because the fights just aren't exciting.

I keep hearing people say this alot. Yes, bringing someone like Fedor to the UFC would be awesome and I would love to see that happen. To say that bringing one guy, even if it is Fedor, to the UFC would make the entire HW devision stronger and bigger is an overstatement. All it would accomplish is having that one dominant fighter stand at the top of the pecking order while all of the rest of the people try to become the top contender. It will just make a new champion, a very dominant and fun to watch champion Ill admit, but it wont revolutionize the devision. It will still have the same people as it does now + 1. In order to really make the HW devision "bigger and stronger", you would need to bring in several fighters. That way, there would be a lot of new possible matches and a new pecking order would establish itself. Just one guy wont be able to do that, no matter how dominant he is.
A prime example of this is Anderson Silva. Yes, hes a dominant fighter, fun fighter to watch, and a very skilled fighter. Did bringing him to the UFC automaticly boost the MW devision up a few notches? NO, it didnt. What it did was provide an easy path for Silva to get the title and now we are left with the exact same MW devision as we had, except now they are trying to figure out who the next contender will be for Silva instead of Franklin. I think that Franklin will get another shot sometime soon and I hope he does well.
On a side note.....do you guys think there isnt any talk of a rematch for Franklin and Silva because the UFC doesnt want to give one or Franklin doesnt want to take that fight again so soon? Im sure you could argue he doesnt deserve it the way he was dominated but then again, Matt Hughes was beaten just as bad as Franklin was and there is already talks of him and GSP fighting again after Serra gets his shot. Just curious as to what you guys thought about that....

Agree, bringing one really strong fighter to division wont help. I actually rather see they put the insane amount of money they would have to pay to get Fedor, and signed 2 or 3 good fighters.

Bring Fedor and Crocop to the UFC.
I'd be great to see them slap Timmy around.
Tim will not last 1 round with Fedor.
He might make it to the 2nd around with Crocop, but will drop by Crocop's liver kicks.
CHOP, CHOP....TIMBER!!!!

Thats what Im talking about...how would that help the UFC's hw devision? It wouldnt. Right now, in Pride, you have Fedor and then CroCop and the rest trying to get to their level. If they came to the UFC, it would be the same thing. They should take the money, like someone else suggested, and invest in four to six quality fighters instead of one or two superstars.

Fedor vs. Monson? i was just thinking about that the other day. strange how its now rumored to be true. Monson only has trouble with taller guys, Fedor is much shorter than Tim is. i am NOT saying that Monson would ever win but man, its definately a better physical matchup for Monson and probably a much better Paycheck.

I wonder what Monson's status in the UFC would go to if he were to beat Fedor. I know its a longshot but crazier stuff has happened.

Monson hits on just that in that article above. he basically said it would be a one way ticket to another UFC title shot. looks like the Snowman has'nt retired just yet.

Monson vs. Fedor March 3rd
the rumors are true, Jeff has signed to fight Fedor in Russia on March 3rd for the sum of $75,000. this comes directly from his trainers at IntoCombat.com.

At least Monson won't have to worry about the reach as much. I think he could do it... of course he needs to get the fight to the ground as usual.

the "snowman" doesnt have a snowballs chance. i dont care about reach fedor's hands are way to fast and accurate. If he is lucky enough to get him on the ground, i wouldnt be surprised if he were the one submitted.

I agree , even if it goes to the ground and Jeff has to pull guard , we have all seen what happens when you have fedor in your guard , he stands up pushes your legs out of the way and gives you a beating
