My Kick Boxing club night
Hi guys not really sure if you woul be interested but i attended my clubs kickboxing night, i wasnt fighting tonight but one of my best mates from muay thai ( i also train ju jitsu with this guys) also fought in this event.
i am a member of the SMTC, Scottish Muay Thai Council, they held an even tonight in greencock scotland, once of my closest training mates was fighting his first fight in 3 years and also my instructors girlfriend was fighting , she is one step off a red dan ( instructor level in MT). Not a good night im afriad. emma lost her fight against a thai against descsion , contoversial to say the least but never the less.
my mate dave lost tonight in the 2nd round, he opened quick and fast fighting at HW, he took a hard shot to the jaw in the 1st which led to his doenfall, dave came out for the first saying he had a problem and had to conceed half way through the round, we went back to the oub after the fight and he was taken to the X ray. for a check up, found out he has broken his jaw in 2 places. pretty bad blow for him but he will be back stronger than ever.
this event has spurred me on to be a competitive figher more than ever and i am now hoping to compete this time next year.
had lots of drink , plenty of action and had a good night, apart from emma losting and daves broken jaw a pretty good night, glad i could share.

It's stupid that I let HWs throw punches at me for a few years, because one of my biggest fears is breaking my jaw. Just the idea of that kind of pain and having to get it wired together gives me the willies.

Best of luck Nimster with the fighting. I'm a boxer myself and the personal pride it gives you to be able to call yourself a fighter is immense! I'm only across the pond from you, so I'd love to come over and watch.

The first time my coach brought me into the ring, we worked on how to get into it without looking like an idiot. He was like, "I know this seems obvious, but you'd be amazed how many people fall trying to do it."

LOL
I remember watching one of the CR Contenders shows and Lee Doski entered the cage, did a little lap then squatted down and leant back against what he thought was the cage, but it was actually the open cage door so he just fell straight back out of the cage lol. Must have been embarrassing! Might be on Youtube somewhere.
