    damn that was one of fights that i was looking forward to i guess i still purchase the fights but that still sucks to see Ninja not on the card

    Man, this was one of the fights I looked forward for, but the cards still looks pretty good, so I am still going to order this fight.

    Man now Krazy Horse is out, got this off mmaweekly

    Charles “Krazy Horse” Bennett, who was set to face Victor “Joe Boxer” Valenzuela in a rematch on Friday night's Strikeforce event, is off of the fight card. Bennett was recently arrested, with a booking date of June 15, 2007, for two charges of violating his probation in Marion County, Fla. Apparently, he will not be able to clear up his legal troubles in time to make the fight.

    Bennett is an unorthodox fighter that established himself with EliteXC, which is co-promoting Friday's Strikeforce "Shamrock vs. Baroni" event in San Jose, Calif., by knocking out KJ Noons at EliteXC's inaugural event on Showtime earlier this year.

    This event is showing the same problems that the K1 show had...just losing participants left and right. I hope that they can get quality opponents to replace these guys, not like the completely outclassed guy they had go against Lesner in his fight.

    So what is the deal with the EXC+Strikeforce thing anyway ?? Why isn't it just one or the other what rules and stuff did they change holding the event as both EXC and SRKF ?


    I missed all the info on that when they first announced these two EXC K-1 shows.

    just seen this on mmaweekly.com, looks like baroni has been cleared also

    Last Friday, EliteXC sent out a statement acknowledging that Murilo “Ninja” Rua had failed his required physical for licensure in the State of California and was subsequently removed from Friday night’s fight card. EliteXC is co-promoting the Strikeforce “Shamrock vs. Baroni” event in San Jose, Calif.

    Rua went to a neurological specialist, however, in hopes of receiving clearance to attain his license. His efforts were fruitful as Rua was cleared this morning by the California State Athletic Commission and is re-instated to face Joey Villasenor on Friday night for the vacant EliteXC Middleweight Championship.

    Rua’s approval and subsequent re-instatement for the fight with Villasenor is fairly surprising as he himself thought the fight was not going to happen… even if he did attain his license.

    In comments made Monday to MMAWeekly’s Ivan Canello, Rua stated, “Tomorrow morning I am going to another doctor to get my license, but unfortunately my fight [with Villasenor] was postponed and I will only fight in September.

    “Whoever wins between Joey Villasenor and [Falaniko Vitale] will fight me in the next EliteXC.”

    Despite speculation about Phil Baroni’s medical clearance for the fight, he was also was approved this morning by the CSAC to compete on Friday night. Baroni faces Frank Shamrock for the Strikeforce middleweight belt in the main event of the evening.

    Also, efforts to secure the release of Charles "Krazy Horse" Bennett from jail in Florida were not successful. He will not be fighting on Friday night's event. Co-promoter EliteXC has secured the services of Edson Berto to replace him in the fight with Victor "Joe Boxer" Valenzuela.
