Fedor will submit Sylvia via leg lock or ankle lock, or anything he can do with Tim's legs.

I disagree. How can you rank Nog above Fedor when Fedor has dominated him in the past? I wish they would get rid of all MMA rankings TBH.

Gee, you dont think they see that he may be able to submit Tim via arm bar/gullitine do ya.....LOL

i think if tim can keep the fight standing, he has a reasonable chance. he was looking good against nog and i think fedors stand up isnt as good as some people think. that said im taking fedor by kimura in round 2

As a side note: what are the odds that Dana White did NOT know this was going to happen? This fight takes a little luster off the Fedor-Randy fight even if Fedor destroys him. Also, it offers the odd chance that Fedor might lose. If he did, how much value intrinsic in a Fedor-Randy is destroyed? How would Mark Cuban feel? Dana is one slick SOB.

I can't believe people think it will even be close. Fedor will win convincingly. BTW nobody has ever seen a heavyweight with Fedor's speed. I can see it now. Tim will throw some jabs. Then Fedor will throw several quick punches, grab and take Tim down. Then pound or submit him. End of story.

His speed is his greatest strength.

I would say Fedor's greatest strength is the ability to seamlessly transition his game between stand-up, take-downs, subs, gnp, etc.
He has complete awareness of the situation and makes split second decisions.
I don't think anyone is as complete and seamless in their game.
With that said, I still think Tim has way more than a punchers chance. He is one fighter I would never count as a big underdog.
Just my .002

Look at it this way: Nogueira has beaten guys like Werdum, Barnett and Tim Sylvia since 06, while Fedor has beaten an old Mark Coleman, a MW, Mark Hunt and a kickboxer. I can definitely see why someone would rank Nog ahead of Fedor.
You can say, "But, but, he beat Nogueira two and a half times!" Yeah, 4-5 years ago. Did you rank Penn ahead of Gomi in the LW division when Gomi was on his swanky streak in 05?

Apparently the fight has been officially signed now....
Fedor/Sylvia news @ MMA Junkie
I still say Fedor by quick overhand right to drop Tim & then armbar to finish him off when he leaves an arm extended while trying to defend against Fedor's GnP.

Good point on the BJ thing. Unfortunately BJ actually lost fights which made him look "human", although they were @ 170. The only difference between the two is BJ would get in the ring whether he was prepared or not because he's a real fighter. At this point it seems to me Fedor is just protecting his precious record.
When you ask actual fighters who the best fighter(s) is they almost unanimously say Fedor and/or BJ. That has to count for something.

Matt Lindland will be on this card too. He just announced it on Inside MMA, but he couldn't say who the opponent is.
