Wow didn't see that one coming. The only time in my life I hope Sylvia wins.

This is good news.
I actually believe Sylvia has a legitimate shot if he can avoid getting caught in a crazy submission ike he did against Big Nog.....

whats so crazy about a guillotine?
pretty excited about this. I agree Sylvia has a good shot if he brings the noise standing up.

Basically I mean make a stupid mistake and get caught by a skilled submission fighter; not trying to discredit Nog or anything.....

Why the hell would people be hating on Fedor here? You hate him because he "fights can, blah blah blah". Now he is facing a top 10 opponent and people are still bitching?? Pathetic.

I'm still not sure about Randy's contract but seems to me had he just fought Nog he would've been free to leave the UFC and fight Fedor. Looks like Randy's stubborness has caused him to miss the boat.

Awesome stuff. This will be in the ring instead of a cage, right?
Should be interesting. Tim was the UFC HW champ during Fedors HW title reign at Pride. Wonder what Dana thinks of another org puttin together a better HW fight lol.
My gut reaction is sub by Fedor. If Tim wins it be a tko of some sort imo. Great fight.

Not me. I've been as sick as anyone of all the Fedor BS for the last how ever many months now...but I'm still a diehard fan when he's actually fighting. True...I do not believe that he deserves his current #1 ranking, since he has not even fought a ranked opponent in his weight class for what....over 2 1/2yrs now? Still, he's one of my fav fighters and seeing him fight legit competition again will be good.
As for the fight....Near duplicate of the opening moments of the first two Arlovski fights and the Couture fight. Overhand right will drop Sylvia...Fedor will swarm...Avoid Sylvia's frantic upkicks...Get side control and rain down hammer fists until Tim leaves an arm out...quick transition to an armbar and *BOOM* Tims taps....OR...we see a repeat of the Sylvia/Mir ending.
I just think that Fedor is way too quick and dynamic for Sylvia's plodding attack. Trying to keep Fedor at bay with his jab, is only going to set himself up for Fedor to tee off & drop him. I honestly think that Tim will be better off just bum-rushing him and hoping that he can catch him with something wild in close. Because even with the huge reach advantage, I just think that Tim will be a sitting duck for Fedor if he tries to strike from the outside. Not that I'm a freakin' expert or anything....But I don't remember a fight where anyone was able to keep Fedor at bay, the way that Tim is used to doing with his opponents....Even a giant like Schilt with his height and striking skills couldn't do that. So I'm guessing that if Tim thinks that Fedor is going to be content to "Box" from the outside, it's going to be a short, one sided fight...and not a good night for Sylvia.

I interpreted it differently. From what I read Randy would have had to fought and lost to Nog in order to get out of his contract. He wasn't permitted to leave his contract while still champion.

I will be rooting for Fedor, but Sylvia has a very good chance of winning.
I really think Sylvia can win this match.
