I think this could potentially be a great fight. If Arlovski can keep it on the feet than he might have chance, a small one, but a chance nonetheless. I really hope he respects Fedor's ground game though. He should be training it regardless but to come into a fight with Fedor with a limited ground game is looking for a loss. I see Fedor winning, but I love Arlovski as well and hope he does well.
Limited ground game??? Are you saying Arlovski doesn't have skills on the ground?

He has skills on the ground, he's got a background in Sambo, but let's be honest, he hasn't looked good on the ground in the past. Even in his recent fight his ground didn't look anywhere as threatening to that of Fedor's. It would be wise for him to really focus on it.
I more worried about AA chin. Fedor has been known to find that button with his unorthodoxed striking. I see AA being gun shy and Fedor laying the leather with his beautiful step in. I think AA athletic ability will keep this fight standing but it will end there.
Mh.. this is strange. Fedor is more than likely going to fight in Japan on NYE. I don´t think he´ll take a fight in the same month against AA. Either they are going to re-schedule the 24th, or AA is not going to fight Fedor. Having said that... Fedor by Submission.
First thing that came to my mind as well. Anybody else find the date odd?

The first thing I was thinking aswell was that AA has not looked good at all on the ground latly.I belive he don`t practice submissions a lot.
He can`t even put on a guilletin choke when it is served to him on a silver plate. That tells me he is not practicing every aspect of mma.
I see this being an easy win for Fedor.I fell AA has a less chance of pulling out a win then Tim did.If he wins it will be a knock out standing up, but I can`t belive it will happend.
Fedor have been cought a copple of times but allways found a way to win.
Randleman/Hunt are the 2 fights ecsept Fujita that comes first in mind.
He allways seems to play the opponents game before ending it wich makes his wins even more impressive.
I don`t think Fedor will bang with AA the way he did against Fujita. If he does I doubt that AA is tough enough to stand there with him. Fujita was famous for having a steel chin. Most guys would have been knocked out by the blow Fedor took in that fight.
"Touching gloves may be the only punch he gets to land"
Or not . Fedor has amazing awareness even though he was rocked he knew exactly what he needed to do, and he got straight into the clinch. Also instead of hammering ironhead Fujita constantly, he knew to go straight for a choke and sank it in quick.

Man this is an awsome matchup. Im gonna be rooting for AA to take this but as almost everyone else think... Fedor seems unstoppable and will probably take this one aswell.
Cant see AA handle Fedors looping punching style.
If Tim Silvia says that Fedor his harder than anyone else he's fought, with Tim having fought AA on multiple occasions, I have a feeling AA will be in trouble.

That's what I was thinking even though AA is on quite a roll right now.
I wonder if Fedor gets him down, will the ref stand 'em right up a la Big Country.
I like Arlovski a lot, especially the way he's been approaching his fights and going after his opponents like he used to. Tough spot for him here though.
Although Affliction Entertainment Vice President Tom Atencio recently declined to confirm any details of the event, the organization's website now promotes a Jan. 24 headline fight between the current WAMMA heavyweight champion and the former UFC title-holder.
Josh Barnett, Matt Lindland, Vitor Belfort, Vladimir Matyushenko, Jay Hieron, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Renato "Babalu" Sobral and Chris Horodecki are also promoted as event participants.

If Fedor can get in the top position its gonna be big trouble for Arlovski, but I think AA has the speed, power and explosivness to give Fedor his toughest fight to date.
I like both guys a lot. I can't envision AA winning this or even coming close to winning this. AA's been KO'ed and rocked several times; while Fedor's been hit with bricks turned around and sub'ed guys seconds later.
MMARated.com has learned that WAMMA heavyweight champion Fedor Emelianenko will face Andrei Arlovski at the upcoming Affliction show tentatively scheduled for January 24th in Anaheim, Calif.
Affliction Entertainment VP Tom Atencio confirmed the news with us earlier today.
Atencio also said that the promotion will officially announce the date, location and main fights on the card sometime next week and that it will be an MMA-only card but still co-promoted with Golden Boy Promotions.
"We sat down with them and couldn't come up with a main event boxing match that everyone wanted," Atenco said.
Originally, it was announced that the January show would be a mixed boxing/MMA event.
Affliction's second pay-per-view show entitled "Day of Reckoning" was supposed to occur tomorrow but was cancelled last month after reported poor ticket sales at the Thomas & Center in Las Vegas. Atencio did mention that January's show will also be called "Day of Reckoning" and will be "more stacked" than its original offering.
Last week, Arlovski defeated Roy Nelson at EliteXC: Stand Heat while Emelianenko last fought in July on the first-ever Affliction show making quick work of former UFC heavyweight champion Tim Sylvia.

This would be a great fight. I hope Dana would be watching. AA just finished his training with Freddie Roach. I think AA will used some hand speed and footwork to avoid Fedor and AA will do a lot of counter attacks.
