That's a good question. CP?
I'm not a big believer in the lucky punch thing. We've all been through this before. The bottom line is that Serra landed and just didn't let up. GSP wanted no part of that fight.
As for Diaz, KJ was dominating him early on but I still think Nick could've won that fight later on...likely by sub. But we'll never know. I will say that most other fighters would've been out from the shots KJ landed but not Nick. He takes his shots and makes adjustments.

First off thanks for the great write up about that round in the diaz vs noonz fight. It confirmed what EVERYONE here knew before you wrote it, Diaz lost the round. Can we get a few paragraphs on the sky being blue next?
Bold here are your comments about GSP (who was somehow snuck into this post). So now your telling us Serra is a better striker and so dangerous GSP doesn't want to go to the ground? You also talk about Serra's bjj then say GSP tapped on the ground like it had anything to do with bjj. BJ Penn arguably has better hands and ground game then Serra, how does GSP pull out these wins being so outclassed standing and on the ground.
I have tried posting back to you multiple times but logic like this stuff I just can't, it is like a different language. I tap to your posting sir, add me to your 'club', /ignore is being used for my first time here.

Yeah jyd, Randleman is also a better striker than Crocop! Get with it.![]()
Nick would kick Noon's silly lay(sp?) wearing ass in a rematch.

No need to defend KJ winning the first round because no one is debating that, what people are debating is what would have happened later in the fight.......I mean Nick might have got whooped all 3 rounds (I don't believe that) but we will never know. What I do not like is KJ after the fight talking all this trash and still refusing to fight..........I'm sorry if you go on a MMA show and show pictures of the guy you fought face and then refuse a rematch come one. It's not like Diaz quit or he couldn’t defend himself the doctors saw it best to have it stopped.
No surprise on the money at all that’s how it works in all sports. Plain and simple look at the Manny vs. De La Hoya fight look at many other champions and there opponents. A lot of the time the more popular name get's the money because KJ and a no name guy can not headline an event but Nick and a no name could. No matter how many of us do not like it (me included) the bigger name fighter is who the buissness depends on to buy tickets, so of course he is going to get paid more.
On the subject of bad buisness by EliteXC, well that's not a very good subject IMO. Yes they had bad buissness on how they used their people they wanted names not fights not fighters. So did KJ not get the champion treatment of course but either did their HW champ...Kimbo was shown instead of the HW championship match. Anything to do with EliteXC and buissness is not relevant because their sense of buisness was so horrible it shouldn’t even be considered buisness.
If KJ beats Nick and it's not from a cut than I will give him the respect he deserves but until then all KJ has done in my book is whoop Diaz one round.
I broke down the fight because the way you were talking you were acting as if KJ just barely got some little old cut on Diaz and then won the fight and that my friend is completel bull sh1t.
Kj busted Diaz up, stopped his take downs to the point Diaz was scooting acroos the floor trying anything in desperation to grab KJ and after restarting the fight for a cut that was not a old cut but a new one KJ created below the eye brow on the eye lid, Kj proceeded to land one hell of a punch and knocked Diaz on his ass.
The what if's don't mean sh1t because Diaz lost plain and simple and again I don't like either fighter.
As for GSP I said in their first fight GSP respected Serra's ground game and did not attempt one take down & in the second fight GSP did not want to stand and trade because he already failed at that once.
You don't like being called on how your protraying a fight then don't respond there is nothing more I can do to explain my opinion.
Btw, in no means am I saying KJ would beat Diaz again nor am I saying Diaz would beat KJ this time, all I am saying is that it was not a simple old scar that opened up and it was not some quick fight.
In that fight KJ owned Diaz.
In no way am I saying that GSP is not a better fighter then Serra because he did demolish him in the second fight.
All I am saying is that it is not fair to state something like what has been said about the KJ vs Diaz fight & the lucky punch crap as an excuse as to why a GSP lost is stupid.

Fabricio ends the debate the Last Emperor has fallen
Im gonna have to agree with Ventre on this one, and im actually a huge fan of the diaz brothers.
Fact of the matter is KJ won, and its pretty ridiculous for a fighter to get paid 1/3 of the other guys salary when HE holds the belt. Whats the motive for even winning the belt? If I were a fighter then right now i'd rather be chuck then machida, cause if chuck fights again he'll get a better payday.
At least give the guys equal salaries.
and whats up with jyd94's whole balls statement, is that considered bashing? Or are mods just choosing to ignore it because they disagree with Ventre.

So if Patrick Cote had beaten Anderson Silva in there bout should the UFC have torn up Cotes contract and give him more money then Silva was making?
Fighters sign a contract and are expected to fight out there contract for the agreed upon amount until it expires. Once it expires and your still champ that's when the big day comes because you renegotiate high.
