Whenever Tyson was unlucky enough to face some legitimate competition, he wasn't anywhere near as impressive (Lewis, Holyfield, Douglas). Yes, when he was first starting out he was fast as lightning and hit really hard, but as soon as Don King stepped in it was all about building hype, so they fed him a bunch of inferior opponents to pad his record and to make him look even more impressive, and his skills diminished as his mental illness increased. Mike Tyson's career is a sad story, and he will NOT be remembered as one of the sport's greatest fighters. He's already little more than a footnote.
not sure i agree... the fights he lost later on was at the end of his career after a LOT of different things happened... in tysons prime i think he was at least the most dominent if not the best fighter in history..

i just watched almost all of Tyson's fights, up to his loss to Douglas anyway. while his power is impressive and his ability to just pound on his opponents is astounding, i don't think he could ever be coined the best ever. he fought alot of cans, hand picked nobodies to build him up. when he fought Bruno and Spinks his reputation was so fierce that people were afraid of him before even getting hit. so they either tried to stand toe to toe with him or fought out of character. Tyson is so full of himself when he fights Douglas that he is'nt prepared if things git tough, which they did. Douglas was the first fighter to bring it to Tyson, to throw at back at him with the same reckless abandon that Tyson threw with. Douglas broke Tyson mentally, forever destroying the Tyson myth, that he was invincible. from that point on he was nothing more than mediocre.

i dont agree 50lb pit would destroy a mastiff. pits are gamedogs and mastiffs arent known to be game

A pitbull is a fighting dog and a 80 lbs pit, will kill a 200 lbs Mastiff. Pits are bred to fight and are really game....
