Cage Rage with Tank & The Machine
I'm on Ian Freeman's email list because I emailed him once to ask a question about his (at one time) upcoming fight with Forrest Griffin -- the one that didn't happen because Ian fell off a horse, injured himself, and retired. He emailed me back within about two hours and seemed like a very cool guy (typed in all capitals, though, but whatever).
Anyway, so I just received a promo email about the upcoming CAGE RAGE 17. It appears Ian is coming out of retirement to fight their champ, and the 83 year old Tank Abbott is making another attempt to go out with a win. Then again, he did say he'll be fighting until he drops dead, so maybe that's his plan...

I didn't notice your post til now. I was at fightopinion and found this so I thought I'd add to your post.
Ian Freeman will return to MMA at Cage Rage 17 against the promotions World Light Heavyweight Champion Melvin Manhoef in an openweight contest.
Cage Rage promoter Dave O’Donnell confirmed the bout earlier today and mentioned contracts could be officially signed at Europe’s biggest MMA expo, Seni Show, this weekend in Birmingham, England.
Ian had retired from the sport after an accident while horse riding but recently declared an interest in returning the to the cage if the conditions were suitable.
His return bout will take place on June 1st at the Wembley Arena, London, England.
I'm excited. I hope he really is ready to come back though and not just doing it because he can't stay away from the sport. Just don't want to see him get seriously injured. Hope he has a good return though.
I don't have much to say about Tank because I can't go against my views on fighter bashing. I'm sure some people will be happy to see him fighting again though.

I try and live by the same code, but lately I think I've slipped into a little trash talk. Not good. I was just joking about Tank being 83, of course. I still respect him and know he could destroy me.

Tank has definately seen better days, but he is a huge draw still and is entertaining when matched up correctly. I loved his fight with Cabbage, but Tank needs to know when to say "No more"

I was very happy to see Tank smash Cabbage in the face, and lay him out on the canvas.

Yeah they had a rematch at Rumble on the Rock where Cabbage won.
Im looking forward to this Cage Rage card, theres some real good fights on the line up. Freeman v Manhouef should be a quality fight.

If you know how to apply an armbar or a rear naked choke...you got the tools you need to beat Tank...lol. He should stick to bare knuckle matches, not mma. Every well rounded mma fighter pretty much disposes of Tank.

The first one they were beating on each other, Tank got winded like always and cut. Really not much happened.
The second fight, they were fighting, Tank got winded and dropped his guard because he was too tired to hold his arms up after like 2 minutes. It was either fight for another 3 minutes until the end of the round, or end it, he flattened Cabbage with one punch and jumped in for the kill.
In conclusion, I'm not sure what fight you saw.

I saw the UFC fight where cabbage won. He started making jokes about Tank afterwards and a bit of an argument happened between camps. (at least I think it was Tank and Cabbage) . Am i losing the plot?

Yeah a little. Correria started doing a dance (cabbage patch dance of course) and someone from Abbott's corner threw a water bottle at him. Abbott's side was the ones who started it.

I'm probably gonna get tickets for that Cage Rage. It will be good to see Tank Abbott fight aswell as my favourite fighter Ian Freeman. I do think both are running the risk of losing badly. Tank is just a brawler and Melvin Manhoef(Ians opponent) is a very tough guy.
I flew all the way to Vegas to watch UFC so getting the train down London won't be quite as much like hard work.

Man, Melvin is not the best choice to make a return with. I'd be very shocked if Ian gets past him.
