Lawler vs. Baroni
In an interview with Baroni he hinted at an upcoming fight with Robbie Lawler. He said that the two are friends but he believes he would knock him out. I was interested in know who 'yall have. I got my money on Lawler.

What interview was that? Lawler is going to be defending his belt against "Mayhem" at Icon and Baroni has signed the contract to fight Shamrock and is waiting for Shamrock to do the same. Sounds like a bogus rumor.

I saw it from youtube.com, I'm not sure who was doing the interview but he said that they were working on it. He didn't want to spill the beans, but he said they were really close. I don't think it is bogus unless Baroni has no idea what is going on with his career.

Baroni and Frank should happen as long as Frank signs the contract in November or December in Strikeforce. Robbie is the MW (185) title holder for Icon Sport, the promotion in Hawaii if you are wondering. Robbie vs. "Mayhem" was supposed to happen a while back but that's when Miller started having all those legal troubles.

Well I checked that. Next time just include the source then no one will call it bogus I watched it but Phil is talking about everything that is going on with Strikeforce, Pride and ROTR. He does sound confident that a fight with Robbie will happen though. But it's the same deal with Shamrock. I hope that fight does happen though. I'd love to see Phil and Robbie go at it.
Here is the interview.

Don't worry. I'm just givin ya crap. I'd love to see Lawler win but my only comparison of the two would be Robbie has been knocked out and Phil hasn't. And Phil also doesn't struggle much with other sluggers. If Robbie wanted to take Phil down and wrestle him he'd almost be assured of a victory. I don't see that happening though.

Going on what I've seen I'd pick Baroni. From what I've heard in Pat Militech's recent interviews it sounds like Robbie has improved leaps and bounds since his UFC days so it's definitely a fight I'd love to see and you know it'll be exciting start to finish.

Is he still training with the Miletich Camp? He has a lot of potential, is very young, and is with a very good camp. I could see him being in the UFC again very soon. If Dana White wants to beef up the middleweight division I think he would be a great aquisition.

I have been hoping for a Robbie Lawler return for over a year now, and it might happen eventually. I could see him returning in 6 months or a year because everyone else has been returning lately.
As for this fight, I'd have to pick Baroni if I was betting money on it. I don't like the guy a whole lot, but like jonny said, he usually outslugs the sluggers. I'd pick Baroni by first round KO.
That being said, I would love to see Lawler shoot in, take Baroni down, and work some of that Miletich magic.
