According to CageRage.tv, Bob Sapp is out of Cage Rage 21 this weekend. His replacement has been named for the fight against Gary Turner. Its none other than Tank Abbott (ugh).

My first thought was that the promoters knew this would be the case for a few weeks and just didn't want to hurt ticket sales. At this point, Sapp is a much bigger draw than Tank, even in England. But apparently, Abbott got on a plane late last night when he got the call from the promoters, so this may just be another case of Sapp pulling out late. This is a hit to the card, but not huge as they at least replaced Sapp with a "name" fighter.

As I wrote this, I just thought of something. It was a K-1 promotion event that Sapp pulled out late (the night of the event) with the contract dispute last year. He agreed to this fight for CageRage well before the new affiliation between K-1 and CageRage. I wonder whether the new ties between the two organizations either led to the promoters planning on dumping Sapp or Sapp planning on screwing CageRage late. Just some thoughts.

I wonder if he pulled out BECAUSE FEG and CageRage are now close and he had a very legit dispute with FEG in the past?
