Creatine Ethyl Ester
ok guys, we've recently been informed that Creatine monohydrate is no longer the type of creatine that best suits the absorbtion abilities of the human body. a new form of Creatine has come along that is better. here is a rundown of the differances between Creatine Monohydrate and Creatine Ethyl Ester. i found it to be informative even though the information is part of a product description. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/hp/ester.html

CEE is miles ahead of mono, it takes no loading stage and is absorbed better, just go on the bodybuilding forum from that store, look up CEE and they have like 10000000000000000000000000 reviews from guys who post there... but it tastes HORRIBLE, so be ready to nearlky puke the first few times you take it.
EDIT: Just to avoid the bad taste I forgot to mention its alot better if you mix it with some crystal light, its what alot of people (including me) do to mask the taste of CEE because crystal light is very low in calories and the sour taste of lemonade really make it taste alot better.

Having not taken CEE I won't claim to be any kind of expert, but in general it seems that powder disolved in a liquid is generally more effective than capsules.

I have a tub of creatine monohydrate powder, it was ok, but it just doesnt dissolve properly, seems to settle at the bottom each time, and gives a gritty taste to the water.

I'm currently on my first supply of creatine, and I went with monohydrate as well. I understand that CEE is more effective, but I'm poor and I'm not looking to be a bodybuilder. I was getting good results from just protein supplements and a lot of lifting, so I figured a little boost from the monohydrate would be worth the money.
It's made a difference for sure, but you're right about the grittiness. I've heard that, unlike protein powder, it's more effective in warm water, which might make it dissolve better. However, it also works better when combined with sugar so most people recommend mixing it with a fruit juice like grape juice. But the idea of warm grape juice is a bit revolting.

Nope. Not everyone agrees that the studies are conclusive, but MOST sources will tell you that caffeine blocks the absorption of creatine (and iron, for that matter) so you shouldn't drink tea or coffee anywhere near your dosage of creatine. I usually wait a few hours.

wow didnt realise that, i was just thinking what warm drinks there are which could be mixed with it, rather than warm fruit juice, hot chocolate maybe, i tried combining it in with a protien shake, but that didnt work very well

i just read that Creatine monohydrate is not as obsolete as i thought it to be. while it is true that CEE is more easily absorbed by the body than CMH there is the price factor. Creatine Monohydrate is practically free these days while CEE costs about twice as much. there is also substantial scientific backing regarding the safety of using CMH while very little is known about the CEE form. i think a person will do well using either.

CEE is great and dirt cheap if you find the right site...just make sure you could ask the company for a lab report and make sure its pure. Buy it bulk and dont buy name brand and you will save so much $$.

I found it for $7.00 per 100 grams and if you get more it gets cheaper. And considering you only dose it @ like 3 grams tops pre and post workout it will last a long ass time.

And with this kind of creatine there is little to no water retention when taken in proper doses, which would benefit most fighters no?
