Default Advice on how to take ZMA at night

The directions says it is best taken 30-60 minutes before bed and for best results not to take with dairy or other calcium containing food or supplements ..

I drink milk with whey protein and sometimes eat cottage cheese before i go to bed .. so how should i take zma ?

your advice is appreciated and thanks in advance

the reason that ZMA should be taken at night and on an empty stomach is becasue the magnesium in ZMA will bond with the calcium and make it unavailable to your body. you will not be able to digest it so the supplement will be worthless and you'll be wasting your money. so do as the directions say and take it on an empty stomach before bed.

would it be ok to eat cottage cheese and drink milk at night .. then 1-2 hours later take zma .. or is that still counter-productive ?

ZMA
ZMA is a testosterone-boosting combination of three essential nutrients: zinc, magnesium and vitamin B6. Zinc and magnesium play a role in over 500 metabolic reactions in the body. Vitamin B6 is very important for muscle protein synthesis.
ZMA is usually taken at bedtime and can support a significant increase in testosterone levels and strength as illustrated in the graph to the right. Athletes often use ZMA to enhance recovery from intense training.

it used to be when it was considered cutting edge science, now its essentially common knowledge in the bodybuilding world. here is a link to a page with several choices of differant brands of ZMA with costs.

ZMA is terrific...but i've been told that if you're under 40 you may be wasting your money...it is a bullet loader and your sleep tends to be deeper...

So why is it useless if you're under 40?
