Herb database
Herb Uses - A, B Herbs
here is a database listing hundreds of herbs from A-Z. A bit of advice when using it. #1. be careful, herbs are powerful, follow recommendations. #2. Use only organic or wild harvested herbs for best results. often times studies discrediting herbs were designed to fail by using poor choices in herbs and not enough of them. #3. don't be afraid to try new herbs as long as they are listed as safe. I used to hesitate about using herbs but have long since changed my way of thinking. They do work, they just do it in ways that differ from medical drugs.

its alot bigger then i thought. you're lucky if most stores carry a few dozen varieties and this site lists hundreds. Most are too exotic to be found in the US. of course exotic does'nt always mean better. The much cursed Dandy Lion flower/weed is very abundant in the US and also a very powerful herb for removing toxins from the body.

Herbs can be really good for you and really bad. Your point about checking them out can't be stressed enough. Especially, if you take any medicines already. Ask a pharmacist, they know how things will interact. Also, St. John's Wart...is not for me...lol. I took it once and developed a nasty rash...that actually took a steroid cream to clear up.

Cayenne pepper is one of my favorite supplements. I use a organic blend that really has alot of fire to it. I mostly mix it with a bit of water and just drink it. But i am always thinking about trying it in cooking.

Woah Cayenne pepper and water thats something I would never have thought of. I love using it in cooking just because you can add it to anything and it adds a nice heat but doesnt destroy the flavour.

It was really hot the first time i did it that way. i did'nt read the directions closely and used a full glass of water instead of 2 ounces. Its not so bad and the cayenne i use is rated at 250,000 heat units.
