Well your diet when training for a fight isn't always going to be enjoyable. You don't HAVE to add mayonayse to tuna.

there is one thing to consider when choosing protein sources that alot of people overlook, digestibility. not all proteins are absorbed by the body at the same rate. Whey for example is digested very quickly. Milk and Egg protein are digested more slowly. i personally start the day with about 20 grams of whey protein to help feed my body as quickly as possible. after that i go for the other sources, egg, milk, chicken, tuna etc. Sources of protein that will sustain my body until my next meal 3 or so hours later. Tuna is a wonderful source of protein and no you don't have to add mayonaise to it, i add mustard to my tuna. yogurt was mentioned, however fruit yogurt is loaded with sugar so your best bet is plain, which is'nt as tasty. Beef jerky can be good but you'd have to make it yourself. store bought jerky is loaded with chemicals and sodium.

I now eat tuna after every workout and use a little mustard instead of miracle whip. I think it tastes rather enjoyable.

Yeah. There are a bunch of ways you can season tuna without adding fat. Lemon, soy sauce, or spices like salt n' pepper, dill, chili powder, etc. Mustard's a great suggestion.

I heard that eating a lot of tuna is hazardous for your health due to the high levels of mercury, anyone know how true this statement is?

Here is a good article about mercury in tuna.

I personally hate tuna, but try to down a couple cans a week just because it's such a great source of protein with no carbs.

I like to add fruit to my yogurt myself, like bananas, melons, berries etc. It tastes a lot better than when it's alreay added.

I do similar, I make a lot of smoothies for breakfast and usually throw in some plain yogurt, couple of ice cubes, tsp whey, mixed berries, bannana, flax oil, sometimes a splash of oj, etc.

Thats a good point, and also you should make sure most of your protein sources are coming from complete protein sources (wow, i just said protein a lot ). Like if you eat a lot of nuts, the body cannot fully absorb that protein because it doesnt have all of the amino acids that are needed for the body to use that protein for what you want it for...muscle. So you have to make sure when you take in these incomplete sources you also are eating complete sources (like animal/whey products/milk products) so all the aminos are there so the body can keep processing.
