Default L-Dopa.. safe?

Trying to cut a few waistline pounds and my metabolism is just too slow to do it, no matter how much I do cardio.. been reading about this and it sounds simple enough, but thats usually where the troubles start.

Here are the facts that I know at the moment.. really wanting to know about side effects, possible catabolic side effects where the extra energy is wearing away at the muscles. Thanks for the help in advance.

'L-Dopa is produced from the amino acid tyrosine by the enzyme tyrosine hydroxylase. It is also the precursor molecule for the catecholamine neurotransmitters dopamine and noradrenaline, and the hormone adrenaline.'

Well, Cardio isn't necesserily the best and only way to lose fat. Few extra pounds of lean muscle will burn more calories and if you keep calorie intake at same level, you should eventually lose the excess fat. (In theory)

And the intensity in which you are doing your training affects as well. Here is some research about it. Short summary: People doing shorter high intensity excercises dropped more fat than people with longer lower intensity excersises. Even though total energy consumption was over half less.

i came across this and it made me wonder if there are two differant L-dopa supplements out there havinh differant applications. http://www.aolsvc.worldbook.aol.com/...ar316430&sc=-1

there is no mention of it being a weight loss or metabolism booster. which makes me wonder how it would become a food supplement. lately there is a link between weight loss and stress. research has shown that people subject to stress are more likely to gain weight or in the case of people trying to lose it, prevent them from being very successful. those last few pounds might be being kept there by stress. believe it or not, there is actually a term for the chemical the body releases under stress but i cannot for the life of me remember it right now.

the stress hormone i was trying to think of is cortisol. its funny actually, weight loss and calorie restriction actually can cause the production of this stuff and undermine your weight loss goals.
