Default general supplementation

supplementation is a huge market where you can get everything you need to become a better athlete along with a bunch of things that may or may not do anything. in fact, the first question people just starting out usually ask is "What supplements should i take?". the answers some pouring in and some of the advice is sound and some of it is often obsurd. i would have to say that when first starting out the only supplements a person should take is a multi-vitamin. i can hear it now,"what about creatine or whey protien?". my reply would be that they are beneficial to an athlete but only one that already knows the value of a healthy diet that is free of supplements. the two things a person just starting out needs to do is create a solid workout program that builds a solid foundation along with a solid eating plan that works to include everything you need from whole foods. its only after a person has accomplished these two things should they look into supplements. the whole meaning of a supplement is to fill in deficiencies in normal diet. all too often people think that eating crap along with all the latest supplements will be just as effective as a sound diet without the supplements. i hope people think about what i am saying here and make the right decisions on thier own.

Agreed. And getting bitten by a radioactive spider wouldn't be a bad idea either.

(I'm kidding, Crash -- everything you said here is bang on.)

A little Spidey sense never hurt anybody. I think proper diet is crucial too, and I also think that some of these supplements can enhance your performance too.
