Default Protein Powder

Do any of you use or have used Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein? I've read a really good review on one of those muscle review sites, and the label has pretty decent doses of BCAAs, essential and non-essential aminos. What do you guys think of it?

Good buy, as long as you stick with an isolate you're good to go, unless you hurt for cash you can pick up some concentrate tp (but the bioavailabity sucks its like 80%)

I've been using ON's 100% whey for the past year, and I'd give it the thumbs up. It's yummy and it mixes well, and it turned me into Brock Lesnar overnight.

The only problem is that the place I get it is always sold out of the vanilla, which is my favourite. The last two 10 lb bags I've bought have been the strawberry, which is fine, but it's not my first choice.

Speaking of Strawberry Protein powders...DO NOT get GNC's strawberry whey...the contents are fine, but the taste is obnoxious...at least when mixed with water; which is what I like to do to conserve on calories. It's not bad with milk or plain yogurt, but wow, is it nasty in water.

Yeah, well, sometimes you can get a good deal there. If you time their sales to match up with your gold card usage. They had a BOGO half off, plus my gold card...12 #'s a decent price. Their protein's decent too, not the best, but decent. And, I was in need of a decent protein ASAP, and the only place to buy quality supplements round here is GNC. I recently got 2 boxes of Nitro-Tech Protein bars; which normally would've cost $71.98 for $22...by hitting a 50% off sale at Gold Card time; which made it 70%. You can get good buys if you do it right, but other than gold card time...I avoid buying things there if at all possible. I use the protein bars a lot at work for my inbetween meals...they're conveinent.

yeah but you could make a better meal replacement by using oats/whey/casien or another kind of slow digesting protein for even less if you buy in bulk.

don't take this the wrong way, but you are one thrifty shopper. i think you mention cost in everyone of your posts, that you can always get something cheaper that works better than what everyone else is buying. how is that possible? as for making protein bars? a very interesting idea and a good one. however most of us eat protein bars because they are quick and easy, just unwrap and eat. spending a day in the kitchen making protein bars is'nt something many of us have time for.

your right, and I didnt mean make protein bars., I meant actually grind up the oats and put it in a shake. I have been doing it for about a year now after reading about it on the net. It give the shake nice texture and a great low GI complex carb. That way you know exactly what kind of protein and what kind of carb you are taking. A lot of protein bars suck as far as quality of a food source go. Thats all I meant. Now please, i am not saying the one you are eating sucks or that you suck or anyone here sucks lol I am just saying a lot of them dont have the best quality. Once I realized this i started pretty much making everything that I use to supplement my diet. And quite frankly, i can do at a fraction of the cost and the most time i spend in the kitchen is like an hr when I am cooking my meat for the next few days. I have never made any protein bars, even though I was thinking about trying. But with work and what not...you get the idea.

i work 50 hours a week doing a 3rd shift job. i spend about 2 hours a day doing various training, weight training, boxing, drills etc. the rest of the day i spend "trying" to sleep. its not so much that i don't have time, its more a matter of having time when i am not worn out and exhausted.

Crashsti is lying to you. He's a billionaire playboy who spends his days in a hottub making immigrant servants type what he wants to say on fight forum. The upside is that they're learning a lot about training and nutrition.
